MobotronUTSM-01 Standard Mount: In-Car Universal Tablet/Smartphone Holder

if you have a big cover for your phone or tablet, then, this is NOT the right item for you . everything is good about this one, but the holders are too tiny . they are designed to hold cell phones without big covers. if your cell phone or tablet has a paper thin cover, then, this is perfect. my phone has a zero lemon cover with an extended battery and this item is unable to hold my phone (only because of the extended battery) my samsung tablet has a kids protection cover. rubber made, and it is just a lil more thicker than the holder can hold. . just a lil more. may be a quarter inch more on the holder would have held my phone and my tablet. well, the design seems to be very strong stirdy. everything is sooo goood about this and that i loved it except that item is NOT holding my phone or my tablet. the whole purpose is not served. hopefully they will come up with an extended optional holder for this item and that will solve a lot of issues.

I mounted the Mobotron UTSM-01 to the front passenger seat rail bolt using the included hardware. That was straightforward once I got hold of the appropriate socket for the Hyundai Kona seat rail bolt, which is essentially a male Torx head bolt. I sometimes notice the Mobotron has a slight shimmy when driving with no phone/tablet mounted in the holder, but it seems that the mass of the Lenovo 10.1 tablet cancels out the shimmy and the tablet screen is very readable in motion. I don't see noticeable shimmy with a tablet/phone mounted in the holder. I primarily use the Mobotron with the 10.1 tablet, but I also tried it with my Moto G4 Play phone, and it works fine there too. Easy to adjust the Mobotron position so it doesn't interfere with the Kona controls, but still keeps the tablet/phone screen as far forward as possible, minimizing the time my eyes are moved away from the windshield.

The tabs holding on to your device are rather small, they work but when your truck is bouncing around a bit because of the road condition, don't be surprised that your device will jump out of the holder.Another issue is the angulation and short arm of the holder. It's simply no match for a full device holder.Otherwise, it served it's function and does not hog up the space when empty

I installed the Mount in my Toyota Camry to hold my iPhone 6, and sometimes iPad. It's quite sturdy and looks great in my car. Took me around 10 minutes to install the whole thing. It's been one week since I have the mount in my car, so far everything is perfect. Will update my review after one month.

SAVE YOUR MONEYAt a year after buying this tablet holder, it's broken and there are no replacement parts. I did called Mobotron and that I just had to buy another complete unit. Not what I intend to do. I now see how cheap they are made. It's now useless to me. The part that broke is the top with 4 teeth that locks on to the ball on top.I will get the ram system!
