I used these on my deck steps. Some stay charged from dusk to dawn. Light is bright, especially in white that I keep them on most of the time. The color changing feature is nice. I would order again.

After purchasing some regular deck lights, which I was quite happy with, I found that the corners of the deck were lacking light. Even though these are designed to light stairs, I thought I could perhaps use them to light the corners by mounting them horizontally.First, this is obviously NOT what these are designed for, but for some reason there don’t appear to be any lights designed to be mounted in the corners of a deck and light the area below. Since these were on a major sale, I decided to give them a shot.So far, I’m pleased with how they’re working, but for anyone else trying this there are two issues to be aware of.The first one I knew about and is obvious from the product photos. Once mounted with the light facing down, the solar panel points horizontally rather than toward the sky. These will always get less direct sunlight than they would if mounted as directed, but I can confirm they do still work. They likely don’t run as late into the night as they would otherwise, but they stay lit through the evening just fine.The second issue was not obvious from the product photos and required a “fix” that I’m not confident will hold up. As it turns out, the on/off and Mode buttons are located in a deep recess on the opposite side from the light. This means that when mounted in this non-standard way, the control buttons sit at the bottom of a bowl that would quickly fill with water in the rain and likely cause malfunction. The buttons are rubber coated and fairly well sealed, but if left to soak submerged, any small hole would let water right into the light. Again, this design wouldn’t be an issue if I was using these as intended.To try and get as much life out of these as possible, I covered the side with the control buttons with electrical tape (see images). I’ll need to remove one of the pieces of tape whenever we want to change the colors, but it is what it is. They’re doing the job they were never intended for until I can find something that’s actually designed for mounting like this, if it exists.

purchased pkg of 6. have had them almost one year. I turn each light off to charge them in direct sunlight for several hours....every 3 days. ( at this time of year my steps dont get much sunlight ) I turn them back on and place them back onto the steps. There are 2 of them that NEVER stay on past one day. The other 4 will last four days before i have to re-charge them. I Love these lights as they are bright, easy to mount, beautiful choice of colors to switch them to, and they add a touch of personality during the Holidays to my steps and decorations. Too much time has passed and they wont send me 2 new ones, no big deal. Just make sure you put yours in a location where they get alot of sunlight. Im getting tired of moving mine :)

These lil lights are troopers!The colors are bright and beautiful.The solar charge, even on cloudy days, lasts from dusk until dawn.Easy to operate.I’ve tested them out by moving them around different places in my backyard. I’ve placed them on my back porch steps, on the sides facing one another & also facing outwards. The steps were lit up wonderfully each direction so it’s mainly a matter of preference.This one is the biggest factor that impressed me: I had them around my pond facing the fountain. The illumination on the fountain was gorgeous! I mainly purchased them for my porch steps but thought I’d just check to see what it would look like around my pond and how well they held up to the spray of mist from the fountain. (Note: these are not submersible so I did not place them inside the pond and I made certain they were away from the edge and up on rocks.) I just wanted to find out how well they would hold up to the mist since it hadn’t rained. Well, I dang sure found out because out of nowhere this massive thunderstorm hit and flooded out my pond!!! I was absolutely certain that I’d ruined these lights! Nonetheless, I immediately retrieved them from the water and placed them along my deck to help them dry out. The next day they were dry and all charged up and to my surprise they worked as if nothing had happened!I absolutely recommend purchasing these lights!

Absolute crap! Even full sunlight for over 8hrs they stay lit maybe 2hrs tops, and hald of them stopped working altogether after a couple of days. Save your money!

I love these! I got these to light up our dark stairs. I was worried where they are colors they wouldn't be bright enough. I didn't realize they have white light in addition to the colors. So I got a different brand -Niorsun white step lights in case these weren't bright enough. Each brand talks about how theirs is the best, but these are definitely the best! They are a lot brighter than expected! I like how it only has one very bright and focused led instead of 14 or 15 dimmer non focused LEDs. It works better but also looks better, it looks higher end. The battery is great as well, instead of providing light for 8-9 hours it gives you 30 hours-quite a big difference and helpful for several gloomy days. They also don't flicker like a lot of them do when it's not completely dark and not light either. The colors are so bright white light isn't necessary which is awesome. It's cool how lights can change the overall appearance elevating it's curb appeal.

I really wanted to love these lights. Unfortunately they randomly decide when they feel like working. Two of them died completely within the first week. They look beautiful when they do work, but that does not help when I need the stairway to stay lit. Really bummed, because I love how they appear when functioning.
