Radtel RT-470X: The Inspector's New Best Friend!
Move over, coffee—there’s a new must-have gadget keeping D & D Home Inspection Services alert and ready for action! The Radtel RT-470X has officially earned its spot as the MVP of our drone inspections in Eastern North Carolina, and let me tell you… This radio is as essential as a parachute in skydiving! Before the RT-470X, keeping up with air traffic during our aerial inspections felt like playing "guess the turbulence"—a game that nobody wanted to win. But now? We’re like top-gun pilots, effortlessly tracking airspace while our drones soar, giving us crystal-clear coordination without sounding like we're yelling through a tin can.The range is phenomenal, the audio is sharper than our infrared cameras, and the durability? Let’s just say that if it survives our roof inspections, it can survive anything. Whether we’re navigating around rooftop hazards or dodging overzealous seagulls, this radio keeps us connected with our drone operators and air traffic like a well-oiled machine.Oh, and did I mention the battery life? This thing could outlast a home inspector stuck in an attic with a chatty homeowner. One charge, and we’re good for the whole inspection—no mid-flight signal dropouts, no desperate battery swaps! If you’re a home inspector, drone operator, or someone who just enjoys feeling like a NASA control room operator, the Radtel RT-470X is an absolute game-changer.D & D Home Inspection Services will be using this powerhouse regularly because when you’re monitoring air tracks and capturing roof defects from the sky, you need a radio that works as hard as we do.📡🚁 Radtel, you have our signal—loud and clear! 🚀🔊

Amazing
I wanted an inexpensive radio to carry with me that would cover 2m Ham, air band, trains, local 911 frequency and Weather, an for an amazingly low price this does it all well!!! Bought 2. Very good reception, good sound and loudness, long lasting battery, universal "C" charge connector, included wall charger. Instructions are lacking, but a little experimenting and watching a couple of YouTube videos and I got it figured out. Got a CHIRP connector (for Baufeng) and managed to get CHIRP going and programmed the radios. Quite the find!

I did not need another radio but I bought this one anyway
I'm really liking this radio. USB-C charging, finally. I have connected it to my base station VHF/UHF antenna and checked into the local repeater net no prob. The next night I checked in standing in my front yard with the little antenna it came with. I'm sticking with the stock antenna for now (and I have other antennas) So may frequencies available. I love that I can hear local aviation. (my local CTAF is 123.000) Commercial FM is good. WX is good. I'm keeping all the programable buttons as is . I only use manual programing. Super easy on this radio. (repeater menu numbers are 6 ctcss, 27 offset, 28 +/-) I recommend deleting a channel (menu 3) before saving a channel (menu 2). Naming channels (menu 9) is easy. I like the display and dual watch (menu 27 TDR on/off) is handy. I don't believe there are any channel bank option but that's not a big deal. The battery seems like a beast. For the money the 470X is a ridiculous deal.cons - I have heard there may be some spurious emissions on low and mid pwr 2 meter but I have yet to run into that.Hard not to buy this radio

Great radio for listening to aircraft band.
This is a great little radio for the price. I can't speak for other bands, but it receives well on Aircraft, WX, and FM broadcast. The sound quality is good, and the battery charges quickly and holds its charge a long time.

You can do so much better.
There are many handheld radios in this space (VHF/UHF, 5W, etc.). This is one you can skip. Most radios more or less follow the same keypad layout. Not this one. It's entirely different for some inexplicable reason. The learning curve is high, especially if you've used other radios. The display on this radio is easily washed out when outdoors or in other bright light...which is where you are most likely going to use it.The performance of the radio is no better than any of its peers.Do yourself a favor and buy the Tidradio TD-H3. It does everything this radio does, only better, and in a smaller form factor. I bought this radio before I purchased my H3. My mistake. If using this outside is important, and you don't need airband, stick with the old Baofeng UV-5R and it's primitive (but entirely readable) LCD display.

My opinion
Raido works great!Scanner not the best and walkie talkie doesn't go that far like it say.So if you want more of a radio this is for you.
