Grids & Guides (Red) Notebook: A Notebook for Visual Thinkers

This was bought with the architecture notebook. I wasn't sure what to expect but it is extremely interesting - anyone interested in shapes and design would find this a very useful book

A notebook with a curious design! The paper is quite thick so the ink does not bleed through. Each sheet has a different grid which keeps in interesting but it does make it difficult to have continuous text from page to page as somehow I get the feeling that I should start a new topic on each page. The cover is covered with textile - while it makes it aesthetically appealing, I am worried about durability. This is a notebook I will be keeping at home rather than take with me on errands or to the office.

I like this notebook. It's attractive and the construction seems good quality. I'm not someone who really batters notebooks, they usually just sit on my desk. But it seems like it would hold up to some abuse. It's also novel, and I'm really interested in unique styles of ruling, so I had high hopes.However it's certainly not fountain pen friendly, so anyone who is interested in using fountain pens in this notebook is out of luck. It bleeds, feathers, and honestly just makes my inks look like crap. The paper performs really well with my gel pens. Minimal ghosting, no bleed. It's certainly disappointing because I absolutely love my fountain pens, but as long as I restrict myself to gels and ballpoints, I think I'll be happy with this book and I'll probably finish it.Summary: really good notebook - unless you want to use fountain pens, then stay away.

I have used these journals for a few years and absolutely love the quality grade paper and the way the grids and guides change on every page. I love using pencil or flare and found the feel and the hard bound combination a real advantage when I fractured my wrist and could use only one hand! And there are really cool pages of information in several categories interspersed between the pages, such as the Periodic Chart, various knots, or the color wheel to name a few. Each color of binding has different variety of these special pages. Finally, the price point can’t be beat! They are much less expensive than most brands and the size and quality cannot be beat!

Bought this as a present and was tempted to keep it for myself. The variation in grid patterns is such a fantastic touch. All of the informational pages are packed with fascinating and useful tidbits. The outer cover feels and looks rich, and it looks like a clothbound book sitting on the shelf.The only reason this gets 4/5 stars is because of the rigid binding. As a left-hander, I live for spiral-bound notebooks. If you ever make this in spiral-bound form, hit me up and I'll order so many they'll have to send 2 amazon trucks to my house.
