Essential upgrade
USB-C charging is a standard now the same way micro-USB became a standard so long ago. The fact that you can get a USB-C capable battery for the UV-5R in both the regular and extended version is awesome. I got.this extended version because I had a USB-C regular size battery that came with my UV-5Rx3 but it ballooned after sitting in my car, in direct California sunlight on a 110+ day. Couldn't be happier though. I often forget to turn the radio off and sometimes the battery would drain completely. Now with this extended battery I just leave the radio on with it hooked up to a 5v3a solar panel and it stays charged without any issues. I only wish I upgraded to this sooner. High quality, fit could be a little better but it gets the job done. Secures to the radio without any jiggling, easy to use, easy to install, great value for the money. Performance is outstanding. Capable of receiving for well over a day and sufficient for solar charging.

Perfect fit on UV5R8W
Purchased this for my UV-5R8W and it’s a perfect fit. Haven’t tested battery performance yet but it arrived mostly charged and slotted right in to the radio. USB-C charger works perfect and also fits into the dock no differently than the standard battery. Much needed upgrade for anyone who will be using their radio a lot and need to be able to charge with something other than a bulky dock.

Great expansion battery
No complaints. Replaced my smaller batteries which came with the unit with this one.

Awesome!
I love this battery. The USB C is Awesome to have on it. Runs for days without a charge. My only complaint is that it no longer fit in my Baofeng charging dock. I think there are 2 small plastic pieces on the bottom that won't allow it to fit properly. That's the only reason it has 4 stars. Otherwise absolutely fantastic battery.

Will not lock -- should be pulled from Amazon
Will not lock onto radio snap. Many similar reviews. Cheap 2nds product. Should be pulled from Amazon.com. Really Amazon support do it now.

fits really well
coming back into HT's I decided a new battery for the baofeng would be my best investment for 2024. The versions sold here that have the battery retained with screws, had me wondering if this older design would be secure or not. Turns out it fits like a glove and becomes a part of the radio just a well as the stock battery does. there is no wiggle or anything once attached. The UV5r is a tiny radio to begin with so I now prefer it with this battery installed. No long term experience yet. These are years old (minus the USBC) at this point so I don't expect any surprises.Only downside I can see is there is no plug or cover for the USBC port so treat it like your cell phone.

2x capacity + USB C charging!
2x capacity over standard battery plus the convenience of USB type C charging.

So-so quality, latch to connect to the radio is out of spec.
Note: This is still an early review as I just received the battery, so I'll try to update after some real world usage. So far my impression is that it's adequate quality for what I come to expect from Baofeng and clones. The battery operates correctly, outputs the correct voltage, DOES charge from both the OEM drop in charger as well as a USB-C connection on the bottom. IT does have some fitment issues with my UV-5r radios as the clip at the top that locks into the radio doesnt seem to be absolutely solid. It looks like the tolerances for that part of the mold for the plastic housing were slightly off and the forward edge of the hasp is a little too thin. I can get it to latch but I have to use quite a bit of force to get it to do so, and bumping the radio in just the right way can result in the battery falling out of the radio if held by the belt clip.
