Didn't have time to shop and bought based on availability. I think it is a quality product but certainly not worth almost $70 for a pice of threaded metal! There are quality alternatives at half the price.

Went well with the other delta products we ordered! Very good quality!

Couldn’t find anything cheaper on Amazon so bought the delta. Felt it was overpriced but quality is good and it works fine.

Recently installed a new shower with a hand held head. Couldn't find the exact same model as my diverter but this was a very close match.

This item is sold without a connecting threaded pipe. I'll explain this observation after I point out what they should be selling!The omitted item is a half-inch pipe, threaded at each end, all the way to a narrow "connecting" section in the middle (either smooth or able to accept a hex drive). Ideally this pipe would be around 4 to 5 inches and would have constant thread diameter so you simply tape up the ends and screw them into the wall and fitting as far as needed. Too long? All you have to do is trim the pipe ends with a saw or dremel. That would be a beautiful, elegant solution. Time to install, on average, less than 15 minutes with the correct tools to-hand.So what's the issue here? Well Lowes, Home Depot etc don't sell threaded pipes with a constant external and internal (thread) diameter. This is because the want the thread to "bite" at a certain point and form a decent seal. You can then crank the pipe maybe a half turn to grind metal threads together and form a seal. But unfortunately that's not what we want here. In our case we need adjust-ability. So having drawn a blank at Lowes/Home Depot/ Ace Hardware, I set out for specialist plumbing outlets. No joy! A completely fruitless and expensive waste of time. I eventually went to a friend with a professional lathe who turned threads onto a length of pipe for me. Installation time, 2 days.I've bought many Delta items for plumbing over the years and I've come to the unalterable conclusion that Delta hates the home DIY'er. The item itself is reasonably decent but also crazy expensive for what is dubious metal and a cheap plastic seal.

The good:- nice quality and looks goodThe bad:- Overpriced- If the pipe nipple sticks out too far (or too little) you are on your own.Instructions state that the pipe nipple (not included) extends the wall between 1/16" and 3/16". That is only 1/4". Pipe nipples come in 1/2" increments. It is difficult to determine the exact thickness of the wall at rough-in time as it depends on the remainder of the construction. In retrofit cases you have no control. So what do you do if the pipe nipple extends between 3/16" and 7/16"? Delta does not offer a solution. My solution is to add a spacer from a black piece of plastic. It is barely visible, see picture.Delta, if you read this, why don't you include two plastic gaskets, one being 1/4" thicker than the other. That would solve this dilemma.
