if dorman milled the mating surface flat this would be perfect but When the turbo is on the bench just compare...
As others have noted fit between the Y flange and turbo is not fine tuned. When the turbo is on the bench... Just compare the fit on the y-piece to the exhaust side of turbo. The OEM is tight with no wiggle no flop no tilt etc, The Dorman is highly questionable. I had to grind and bevel the centering pin. and level the mating surface using a dremel and a sanding wheel. I admit, when i ordered these I was not expecting perfection but a great deal, it is a great value. an now if dorman milled the mating surface "flat" and instead of mashing in a soft dowel pin used a tigher tolerance hardened pin, these would be a no brainer purchase. i heat sprayed and turbo wrapped mine for longevity.

Can't use a socket on collector end!
One of the most difficult parts of replacing a turbo and up pipes is getting the old pipes off. Both the nuts and bolts are rusted, and access is very difficult. So, I was looking forward to installing new pipes with corresponding hardware. Unfortunately, these Dorman up pipes were manufactured with the heat exchanger element up against the mounting bolts. This meant that I could not use a socket to fasten the machine screws to the collector— i had to us a wrench. While this was not a problem on one side, as I premounted the driver's side pipe to the collector before putting it in the engine, the other side had to be fastened in place. It would have been SOOO much easier to use a socket with extension from below to hit these screws!

CASTING LOOKS LIKE A ENGLISH MUFFIN OR PUMICE STONE
CASTING LOOKS LIKE LAVA ROCK, HORRIBLE. Soaked up a 1/2 can of high temp paint without a run. The kit is worth the money ( so far ) . Pipes are bent nice and clear just fine. Had fitment issues due to the passenger side being a bit long and the "Y" angle was a bit off. Also, the thickness of the "V" band clamping area was too thick and made it a pain to get the 2 parts to draw together . The surface inside the "Y" to turbo area is also a issue. It's not flat and leaks a "tiny" bit, and the "D" shaped ports don't match by a long shot. WAAAY off center in a way that would require "turbo" side grinding to match. . It's still far better than the oem doughnuts . BUY A 6 x 48 BELT SANDER, true the manifolds, they all need it.

Consider spending the extra to get the pipes from international.
I bought these pipe to fix the exhaust leak I had in the stock up pipes. They seemed to be okay quality. The welds were not great but seemed to be complete. I got everything buttoned up and drove it. Everything was great no exhaust leak or anything. About a week later i started hearing one the seemed to be coming from the back of the motor (same place the stock pipes did). I made sure everything thing was still to torque spec and it was. So I did a little more digging and noticed there is a small hairline crack in the passenger side pipe weld. Guess Ill be dropping another $450 for the international pipes as I should have in the first place... But I suppose that will have to wait a while..

Still functioning properly after two years.
Going on strong for over two years now without any leaks. I was skeptical about buying dorman up pipes for my 7.3, but so far so good. I do live in California, so I don’t have salt to contend with, but they still look good. I’ve got roughly 35k-40k miles on them.

Great product for half the price!
I saw that my up pipes where leaking when I pulled my turbo off for some other issues so I replaced them while I had it all apart. This is not a difficult job it just takes a lot of patience. I saw the IH up pipes for up to 400.00 dollars. When I saw this set from Dorman for 165.00 I was grinning. They look identical to the IH products. I've only had them on for a couple of weeks, but so far they are working great.

Good value so far.
Had these for close to a year now no problems so far. Roughly 15000 miles on them. I'll try to update this review again if there are any problems.
