A book guaranteed to be treasured over and over again.
An absolutely beautiful book. Illustrations are colorful and captivating. Young ones will find new details that interest them each time they turn the pages. Together with the "story", understanding dawn's with awe and wonder! The best kind of learning. A well of water to nurture further desire for understanding. The Science present at the end ensures that this book will be treasured again and again as the child grows. Fodder for further discussions between the "seedling" and "mother trees" in family and classrooms. This is a great launch pad to connecting ones heart to our environment. Parents, Aunts, Uncles and teachers I highly encourage that this book be added to your gift lists. (Every breathing thing- let it praise Jah. Psalm 150:6)

Fascinating book with beautiful illustrations
I purchased this book for my daughter-in-law from her amazon wish list. After she opened it, I enjoyed reading it while there. The idea that trees are interconnected was fascinating to me, and this is a book that children and adults will both enjoy.

A beautiful story about a fascinating topic!
I’ve been so excited for this book to arrive and I’m thrilled to finally have it in my hands!I’ve been absolutely fascinated by the world of mycorrhizal networks invisibly connecting trees in complex underground systems since reading Underland by Rob MacFarlane. I can no longer think of trees as separate parts of forests and now see a forest as a complete organism, much like a human with hundreds of networks and pathways ensuring the survival of the whole ‘being’.It was hard to grasp how these fascinating networks and scientific discoveries were going to be put into a book which would appeal to children and keep them engaged. Listen To The Language Of Trees has done just that by telling the story of a Giant Douglas Fir tree as it provides for it’s neighbours in the forest and then calls for their assistance when it comes under attack from beetles. The illustrations are wonderful and capture the ever changing moods and tones of a forest and detail the other forest wildlife, although not the main players in this story. This book captures a relatively new scientific topic and explains it in such a wonderfully engaging and child friendly way, encouraging the next generation of forest loving children to treat these environments with the awe and respect they deserve. The book also explains the science in a factual way at the back of the book.I’m even more impressed than I hoped I would be!
