Rancid product (twice), indifferent customer service
Original review: (5 stars) "My cats like the flavor" - I use this mainly as a flavor enhancer on cat food for my elderly cat whose appetite sometimes needs a little encouragement. I like it better than Fortiflora's premeasured packets for this purpose because I can easily use the amount I want with the included tiny scoop. PSC Pets sent me a generous free sample of another product to try along with my first order. I just placed my second order.Update 14 August 2013: Downgrading my review from 5 stars to one star. Read on to see why so harsh.Last batch I purchased, in April 2013, was of very poor quality (but this is not the sole reason for the downgrade). It smelled rancid, and the cats would not eat it. Customer service immediately replaced it with another bottle, but that one was bad, also, so I returned them both and received a refund for my original purchase. Initially I was impressed with the responsiveness of PSC Pets' customer care; I was told the problem had been investigated, an anomaly identified, and a solution was in progress. I was offered a free unit to be sent once the new product had been manufactured so I wouldn't have to keep trying the product to find out if it was okay again. This was projected to happen in a few weeks' time. Because I was so impressed with the effort they were making to correct the problem and restore my confidence in their product, I elected to hold off updating my review with my experience of bad product, and I told them this, for which they thanked me.Sadly, I didn't hear back from the company for a couple of months until I contacted them again. Evidently, the customer service rep who had been handling my case with great skill had left the company. Her replacement had little interest in fulfilling the commitment the previous rep had made. At first she asked for more information about the situation, but my last two inquiries, including a CC: to the company CEO as to the status, went unanswered. I did advise that my previous good review remaining good depended on how PSC Pets ultimately responded to this problem, because I wanted to be able to compliment them, and to continue to buy the excellent product I'd formerly known, and that my cats went nuts over.Since PSC Pets never supplied me with a corrected sample as promised, I cannot verify that the product is good again; and their failure to follow through with their modest, but appropriate and welcome concession, has been another disappointment. So, one star for bad product (based on the last two units I received, and I'm not willing to pay again to find out if they've fixed it yet) combined with total failure in a customer service scenario that had so much potential to be a positive for the company. I now regret withholding negative information about this product from my fellow Amazonians for so long.Update 14 November 2013. Never did hear back from customer service or the CEO. Since then, I've found a more cost effective solution for spiking the flavor of my inappetant cat's food: a soft Pounce treat crumbled on top. There are probably 200 of them in the bottle that only costs $1.

Intelliflora vs Fortiflora
I had such high hopes for this product; unfortunately, they were not met. I've been purchasing fortiflora for my Siberian cat for several months. She is a horribly picky eater with minor digestive problems, so fortiflora was a perfect solution. She would finally eat her raw food with fortiflora and her stools were no longy runny. Problem solved! Except, of course, the price. Fortiflora is expensive. So after buying months supply after months supply, I decided it would be worth it to try a cost savings alternative. Ugh, what a mistake! After reading all the reviews on here, I figured my cat would not like it as much as fortiflora but would at least like it. Nope. Upon putting it on her food, she sniffs and promptly sticks her nose up and walks away. I cannot entice her to eat at all with this on her food. Not even with her favorite tuna flakes or treats. I have literally tried everything to get my girl to eat with this on her food to no avail. After a week of trying everything under the sun to get her to eat with this, I gave up and reordered fortiflora. I guess I will have to stick with that. Now, my cat is extremely picky and always has been, so perhaps this product might work for less picky cats, or for cats who have yet to try fortiflora! I did give this product two stars for a few reasons. First, the bottle with a little scoop is very convenient (in fact, I much prefer this to the way fortiflora is packaged). Second, the ingredients are good. It contains the probiotics my cat is used to. The only difference in ingredients is this product does not contain animal digest like fortiflora, it contains chicken liver instead for flavoring. In my opinion this is a mistake! Cats love animal digest, thats why they love fortiflora, and contrary to popular belief, it is not a poor ingredient, it is perfectly fine and healthy. Also, the intelliflora does not contain taurine. Cats need a lot of taurine so any taurine additive is good in my book. So, if you are looking for a cost effective probiotic and your cat is not picky or already in love with the fortiflora, this is a very good option. However, it gets two stars from me because my picky fortiflora loving kitty hates it.UPDATE! I gave this to my sister to use for her cat as mine would not touch it, well, I was shocked that her cat would not eat this either! Her cat is a lot less picky than mine, and she wasted a few bowls of good food just trying this out! Her cat hated it. I would really proceed with caution here. Now, I am giving this to another friend to try. I will update after that experience!

IntelliFlora
Purchased this for my kitty who has a long history of chronic diarrhea. After taking her to vet to rule out any other disease or parasites, the only thing the vet found with tests was "excessly high bacteria in her stools", and we left with antibiotic pills, which did not seem to help, besides bringing out the dreaded "cat pilling" syndrome.I purchased IntelliFlora after trying the higher priced name brand, with limited results. Although this produce has not "cured" my kitties' diarrhea, there has been an improvement, she has gained some weight back, and seems like she has more spunk and zest for life. Since kitty is a tiny girl (barely 6 pounds) I like the fact this product is in a bottle with a tiny scoop, I add just a small amount to her food each day, rather than opening a "one size fits all" packet.I would recommend this product to fellow pet owners with pets who suffer from chronic diarrhea
