Very Interesting Reading
This unique book offers the chance to have a detailed look at the pine forests that most of us in the South have walked through all of our lives. It provides an in-depth look at the plants, animals, birds, reptiles, and insects that make up the ecosystem of the Longleaf Pine Forests. The harvest of these pines has been a significant aspect of the economy of the rural south for decades, and the ability of the pines to withstand fire has helped this industry to survive. This book provides a panorama of pictures and narration that reminds me of what my family called a "Coffee Table Book" that can bring many hours of informative browsing.
