Fun and good value!
As far as gimmick toys go, this set is great. A dog that turns into a chainsaw is probably gonna resonate with fans of a certain anime. The Optimus Prime is pretty great too, I wouldn't say it's better than the legends scale one and it certainly can't measure up to the mainline versions, but it's a lot better than what you'd expect from gimmick lines, it's got pretty good articulation and a simple transformation that ends in a good looking truck. If you buy this, you'll end up putting it on your desk to mess with, it won't go collect dust in the trunk any time soon.

The figure is pretty mid, but excellent little weapon buddy
The main figure is basically just another Warrior-class Optimus Prime like we saw from Cyberverse or EarthSpark, except this time bayformer style. Nothing to get exited or ouraged about, just a serviceable rendition of the single most remade Transformer of them all, five inch edition. Where this set really shines is the companion wolf/chainsaw packed with it, though you need to give it to a figure with wrist swivels to get the most out of it - then you can fold the grip peg part way forward and have it underslung in the left hand while positioning it so one of the front paws is held in the right, closer to the way a real chainsaw is wielded. Either version of the Legacy Junkion post-apocalypse tow truck/junk car mold works excellently for this, but just about any Deluxe-size mold where you can spin the left fist around to have the hole facing 45 degrees thumb in/down diagonal will work.

A fun entry level Transformer.
I purchased this during a sale, so the price paid reflects highly on my opinion. As a simple and fun distraction, this toy set has a level of figure detail and pose-ability that an older Transformer fan may have grown up with. While it's not as large as the toys you may have grown up with, it's pretty impressive for the size and range of motion. Not many G1 era Transformers toys were this detailed and poseable. There is a hollow quality to the figure, and I do wonder how well it would hold up to vigorous play; but overall this is a very nice set in terms of character detail, transformation, and pose-ability. Absolutely worth a purchase when on sale, at MSRP I would say you're better off with a couple of Core Class figures or a single Deluxe Class figure if you want to get into the minutia for Hasbro toy sizing.

Great toy but not good for price
You should get a toy like this like the details is great. And good transformation but not good for the price I think it should cost 30 dollars but still a good toy and I have put optimus in some poses

Love
These were bought for my son. He loves it very much... much better than the real ones. They're bigger, thicker, and more sturdy. Also, they're easy to transform and pose. He uses them ad display, but occasionally plays with them. I do recommend and will buy again.
