Versatile Yet Light Tripod
I needed a stable tripod for use both with my DSLR and my iPhone cameras. The GloBest 56" Tripod definitely fit the bill for both.Pros: The attachment area of the tripod has a standard 1/4-20 screw which works with both the DSLR and the various phone attachment tools that I habitually use for attaching my iPhone to my different tripods. It also allows for quick removal of the 1/4-20 screw head attachment point (which I think allows for the attachment of a 5/8-11 screw mount). The tripod allows for a 360 degree horizontal field of view together with the ability to easily tilt the shooting angle 90 degrees. There are 2 discreet levels to insure your tripod and your photos are set as you want them to be. The tripod, made of seemingly high grade aluminum with plastic at non-load bearing points, is very light (advertised at 2.55 lbs) and has a built in grip for easy carrying around your photoshoot area. The tripod extends from its shortest height of 16.5 in to a fully extended 56 in. It advertises at a load bearing capacity of 22 lbs although I would be wary of putting that much weight on top of the tripod given the lightweight aluminum frame. The carrying sleeve/case has a full length carry strap making it easy to carry to or from your photoshoots.Cons: As noted the tripod is very lightweight and I am, as noted above, leery of putting too much weight on the top attachment point. I am also aware that most light tripods CAN have a tendency to sway - I am not sure about this particular tripod swaying nor do I fault it if it does sway as it is, as noted, endemic to lightweight tripods. The product description indicates that the 5/8-11 screw mount attachment is included. It was not included in the package I received. All together, the GloBest 56" Tripod provides for versatile use with its removable attachment head and fitting both DSLR and smartphone cameras. It is lightweight which makes it easy to move during your photoshoots and to/from the shoots as well. Although not the most sturdy of tripods it will provide usage in most situations provided you stay aware of your environment and usage requirements. Given all its features I think this is a tripod that should definitely be considered if you are in the market for a tripod suitable for most uses and I consider it a solid 4 star product.

After a few months of light use, one leg broke
So I really wanted to like this tripod. I used it less than 10 times and a week ago one of the legs broke. The latch for the slide lock came undone and now it won't lock in place and it useless. I only used it with a android phone adapter so very little weight was placed on it. I did notice that the last 2-3 times I set it up the leg was sticking when sliding it out into position. I was very careful but that didn't matter. Spend your money elseware.

DURABLE - STEADY - FULL FEATURES
This is a really nice tripod. Noticably light weight factor yet performancewise it provides good stability for you camera, or laser level, anything that requires a level starting point. The tripod has bubble levels for the for both planes. Really not expected at this price. The height adjustment is smooth without any skips up or down and when at the right height it stays there.I noticed something about the customary hook at the bottom which is on most other tripods an item that is about as exciting as the tab to pull on a pair of loafers. The hook has a slightly wider throat and the breadth of the hook is somewhat greater. Less chance of putting a permanent crease in a heavy camera bag. Nice feature.(See Images)The legs extend to even lengths. The smaller legs all extended and retracted fairly smoothly except for one which was a little resistive to movement. Not anyithing that could be trouble and something that a little loving care could no doubt solve. The added professional style central supporting brace is solidly constructed. All components are metal and so the arms connected are on metal pivot points. That is really another great feature. I know that you would want a tripod that is always altogether, together and a raring to go! T'aint so with some others out there. You would find yourself having to tke time to snap a plastic arm back in place from time to time while a perfect scene fades away. I think this is pretty clear in the images that I included. The tripod has a fairly heavy zippered bag. The zip works fine. The closure surrounds the head and the zippered opening extends much less than halfway down the body of the bag.Practical and sensible. The tripod fits easily. Just remember, feet first. The only thing I am a little disapointed with is the manner in which the quick connect plate (supplied)is secured to the tripod. The Globest uses a spring loaded latch. It is a cheap and simple way to do things and for the most part grips the plate securely. However, if the screw at the pivot point of the latch should fall out or the spring fail down would come camera adapter plate and all! Good maintenance to check that screw between shoots. I have other tripods that used the latch instead of the conventional grip. That latch did fail and one of my good cameras would have struck a granite surface had it not been for the fact that I always wrap the camera strap around the tripod handle just in case a valuable camera should come loose from the moorings for whatever reason. So maybe it would add a few dollars to the price, and a few ounces to the weight, but I really prefer the manual method of mounting. It is not as quick, but in my opinion, much more secure and sensible.Another good feature. Slim tertiary legs but more than nominal sized rubber boots. These boots are made for stability, and they appear to be well secured to each of their respective legs. I gave each of them a really tough test. Pulled hard and from different tight angles to see if I could get the collar of each to slip over and off the associated ball. The rubber is tough and does not stretch easily. They resolutely remained in place. The fact that they conform with the different surfaces with the ball assistant is another reason for the stability of the tripod and why the feet are more likely to stay connected to the leg. This is a solid feature filled functional tripod. It would be an excellent choice for a vacation or a walk in the woods.I am awarding this tripod the full five because of construction, and a couple of innovative features. These tend to outweigh my concern about the spring loaded latch to secure the camera mounting plate. The only other slight imperfection in performance was the slight friction that was noticed in one of the legs, the smallest one to be precise. There is also the true to description that means a lot in my book.So if you need a highly functional very lightweight aluminum tripod to mount a camera or device, then this Globest 19.7" Mini Portable certainly might be the best choice for you.
