A rare tale where you are rooting for both the hero and the heroine at the same time.
I did not expect to fall in love with this story as much as I did. Dominic and Alessandra / Dom and Ale - the perfect power couple on paper but close up, broken due to years of career ambition and complete blindness on Dom's part to not see the most priceless gift he had in his life was slipping away. From the first chapter, I was rooting for Ale as she knew her worth, what she wanted and what she deserved. She made the first brave step to walk away and unhappiness and thankfully, Dom quickly knew what he was set to lose. What sets this story apart from so many similar stories of this genre is that there was no third person (romantically) ready in the wings to cause more angst. This was simply a love story that was not yet over. Reading this was going along the journey with Dom as he fights for the one thing he knows he can't lose and Ale as she picks herself up and plans to move on with her life. Of course, there was no way her ex-husband (on paper at least) was going to make it easy for her. In return, he had to earn his way back into her life and what a joy it was to read his character development.I laughed, cried and broke as I devoured this book which in itself is a rarity. This is one I will re-read over and over. I can already see every beach holiday with this copy by my side.

Heartbreaking, heartfelt and beautiful
I really enjoyed this book. I didn’t expect much because I don’t like the marriage in trouble trope, nor do I like already married MCs, but it was a delightful experience. The characters were entertaining, multi-dimensional and relatable, the romance was captivating, and the plot was certainly more intriguing than the second book, not more than the first one though. However, my heart was breaking for Dom even though I knew he was at fault to begin with. I also wasn’t a fan of the time jumps, past, present, future, it doesn’t matter, I prefer them to be taken into parts rather than interrupting the flow of the story.Dominic started off as ambitious and greedy, but it didn’t stem from a negative place. He just didn’t, or rather couldn’t, stop to enjoy what he already had because of his past. His motivations were justified, it was his execution that caused issues. That man knew how to grovel both with words and actions. The way he loved Ale, once he realised the consequences of his actions, was so beautiful. When he wasn’t greedy, he was incredibly devoted to Alessandra. He needed to relearn how to enjoy what he already had, and it took time, but if anything, Dom was determined, and it was clear in the way he put everything aside just to get Ale back.Alessandra, on the other hand, started off as the “perfect”, supportive wife, putting herself aside to cater to Dom. However, once she started to rediscover herself and put herself first, it was interesting to watch her growth not only alone, but the way she treated Dom. It was more and more visible as she regained her confidence and found herself again. Although I understood why it took Ale so long to allow Dom back in her life, I did feel bad for Dom because we, as readers, could see his thoughts and feelings in his POV, whilst Ale was completely blind to them since she couldn’t see into his mind. The romantic journey they went through to resolve their relationship absolutely broke my heart and mended it back together. It was full of love, hurt, anger, care… years and years of struggling but indefinite love. And the scenes that showed their relationship before their issues started were everything I didn’t know I needed. It added not only to their personalities, but to their relationship as well. What bothered me though was the time-jumps. I understood the need to show both the characters’ past and present, but the way it was executed took me out of my comfortable little reading zone. I prefer when different times are represented in different parts, maybe by creating separate sections for them such as Part 1: Past and Part 2: Present. When the scenes are jumping between times, it can be disruptive.Whilst I adored the romantic and dramatic journey Ale and Dom went through, and absolutely loved them as characters, the pacing of the memories bothered me a bit, and so it affected my experience with the book. Therefore, King of Greed got 4/5 stars from me.

This book broke me and healed me, if your fed up of marriage in books being written as if it’s sunshine and rainbows when in reality it’s teamwork and remembering to SHOW Love to your spouse not just feel it. This book if for you.
I cried, laughed and emphasised at this book more than any book I have ever read. This book has been on my shelf for a while, to be honest I was scared how it would go, as when I was recommended this book everyone always mentioned how sad it was. I think people don’t like reading about divorces and real life because they want to escape to an ideal world. But I loved this book. In romance books you don’t really see the bad in a relationship or a marriage, it’s always just a happily ever after and then they run off into the sun set. But with Dom and Ale we see the raw emotions that Ale feels in her marriage, how she feels alone, lost and forgotten. How she lived In a home of dreams when all she ever wanted was to be seen. We see Ale realise that she can’t keep living in the shadows, that she can’t always put people first and that she deserves to be in the spotlight. For once we are shown what a real marriage could look like outside of the fantasy and romance there is real emotions and obstacles you have to face. But you should be facing them to together, the weight equally distributed, not just on one persons boulder. The person who has that shoulder to lean on thinks it’s hard until they are in the position of the one who was lending that shoulder out, the added weight that is staring to physically strain them.I was scared to read this book because I didn’t know how Dom’s character would be written. However Ava Huang did it perfect…duh. Dom wasn’t a power hungry man, he was just scared of drowning. In the ocean there is always a shark bigger than you and the fear and pressure you feel to be the best so you don’t drown is a weight that can pull you under. I was nervous that Dom’s character would not care for Ale, but that man is obsessed. He just didn’t realise while he was struggling to stay afloat his wife was drowning in silent. But when she made him see through the fog, and see HER, he realised how many dates he missed because of work, he realised how much he let her down. But boy did he YEARN for this women to be his again. He would search for her in ever life time. Their banter and their love for one another was like a breeze on a warm day, refreshing. We see Ale find who she is and we see Dom fall even deeper in love with her.If this hasn’t made you go and buy this book then your missing out girlie. When I picked this book up I was sceptical but now I wish I could read it again for the first time all over again and cry, laugh and kick my feet giggling with both of the characters.
