You won't be able to run any distro you want, and setting up nvme boot can be painful, but in the end it works, and these machines are incredibly powerful! I'm running 3 of these as workers in a Kubernetes cluster, with another x86_64 machine as the controller (k0s). I'm very happy with the results.

Faster than the Raspberry Pi 4B, and nice to be able to have a mounted SSD. I will buy again.

I got mine , put in my anti static wrist strap. Got everything hooked up. Powered it on. No video. Doesn't even show up on my network. Nothing I've tried seems to work.*UPDATE* After changing out the power supply twice, 3 different SD cards and 2 new HDMI cables and a complete rework of my network. I have discovered the ussue. Etcher.. something was "glitching" while writing to the SD card. Time to get things installed and see how it works.

Unfortunately this motherboard does not have storage capacity and needs a SD Card only if you want to use a WiFi card as well.Main issue is the support for the Android 12 download to be installed on the bootable SD Card. I have tried all of the steps and sent email and tried to contact the support directly to help. No response so far in the past 3 working days.Android 12 image is a tar ball package and after unzipping it is not a bootable ISO image thus can’t boot.I tried Belena etcher for Ubuntu on the same SD Card after failed to load Android and that works well.I hope they resolve this issue soon else have no choice but to Return.Be careful before you buy anything from this company.Good Luck

Less than 6 months and its dead.

The latest Android 12, NVME ROM (It is only Gen 2 x4 PCIe only) works fine if you read the instructions in the guide on their website. They’re on version 3 that should support a few different USB dongles, including WIFI 5 and BT 4.2 now. The biggest problem is you have too root it and add GAPPs if you want to run Google Playstore, but even then, you need to register it a developers ROM which does not validate with games like ‘Alien Isolation’. I have also had problems with it being recognized properly with NVIDIA streaming platform - freezing after a few seconds unless you choose 720P AND 30Hz. Also, keep in mind, unlike Linux or Windows, you have to ensure the screen can support the limited video output resolutions. Best bet is 720P, 1080P, 2160P at 30Hz or 60Hz.

Extremely poor design.

A qualidade do hardware é boa e usando a fonte original, que comprei junto, não tive problemas. Optei por instalar o Ubuntu 22.04 LTS Jammy Desktop Xfce com Linux 6.1.43, que é customizado para a placa. Até aí tudo bem! A orientação do manual de instalação obtido na página de suporte é bem detalhada e clara, explicando todas as possibilidades. Não vale a pena instalar SSD NVMe caro nela pois a interface é PCIe 2.0 X1 e está limitada a 500MB/s. Fiz minha instalação no micro SD e deu tudo certo. O sistema executa muito bem (SD card mínimo de 64Gb e 100 MB/s) e apenas 8Gb de RAM.Para compartilhamento de arquivos na rede o melhor é instalar SSD ou NVMe com adaptadores nas portas USB 3.0 ou USBC 3.2.A partir daí começam os problemas de compatibilidade. Somente os aplicativos customizados que estão no repositório de software da Huawei na China funcionam apropriadamente e a manutenção e atualização deles é demorada e o software defasado. Instalar softwares compatíveis com qualquer versão de Linux para ARM64 sempre vai te dar dor de cabeça, inclusive aqueles que rodam muito bem nas Raspberry PIs. O mesmo ocorre com os aplicativos SNAP na base da Canonical. (Firefox cheio de problemas e sem suporte de áudio, por exemplo)O software RDP (Xorg) que o próprio Orange PI Config instala para acesso desktop remoto pelo Windows, simplesmente não funciona. VNC server não instala. O player de vídeo, VLC, não instala. O PIA VPN arm64 instala mas não funciona e todo o acesso à Internet fica bloqueado.Libre Office OK.Não há a menor perspectiva para o Ubuntu 24.04 LTS uma vez que o 22.04 saiu somente recentemente, em 21/02/2024.Quem tiver necessidades específicas, de projeto ou uso, deve tentar se aprofundar ao máximo em pesquisar o produto antes da compra para não ter grandes frustrações.

This is an amazing board and blows RPi out of the water. With an NVME this little board rivals my larger systems for basic usage. Of course it’s no match for video converting or anything. But for just something to use, it’s just as snappy as my 24-core system. And it only uses a few watts of power which is amazing
