I was hesitant to purchase because I felt the fake "wick" might look a little "cheesy" but I've been pleasantly surprised! These real wax, ivory colored unscented candles are designed so that the "wick" can basically be seen only from the front. The wick looks a tad silly during the daylight hours but when it is lit, the candles are amazing. They provide a warm flickering light and a welcome ambience to any room. The remote, which works even if you separate the candles into groups, functions well and can be set for 4,6,or 8 hours if you desire. The candles can be set to come on every day at the same time; provides a really welcoming sight when you come home in the evening! I love the fact that these run on 2 AA batteries (you can get the high drain alkaline batteries are the dollar store --- yes, more savings!).You can stop worrying about drifting off to sleep with the candle still burning. No more worries about the pets, the kids or a clumsy housemate knocking over a real candle and burning down the house! Ordering 2 more sets as gifts.

LOVE these candles! As I gaze at their glow and "flame", I forget they're not real. In my opinion, very realistic appearance! My husband, who doesn't really care about this kind of stuff, kept commenting on how cool these candles are...so, there you go! The ONLY thing that is a downside is that the remote has to be in just the right angle/position to operate, so sometimes I have to get up and point multiple times until I find the right spot for the candle to respond. The candles are on the coffee table in front of the couch so it's not like it's across the room or anything. But, for me, that's OK given how much we love the candles!

I really like the ease of clicking a button on the remote and lighting these all up. The flicker of the “flames” is realistic and provides the effect you’re after when you use candles. I use these in lanterns I have outside on my patio and they work great. I just wish they were fatter to offset the size of the lanterns I use them in.

Very pretty candles. The "cup" part of the flame is a tiny bit thick so it doesn't move as well as the Luminaria ones. However, the prices of those are outrageous so these are a very good substitute! I definitely recommend!

Ordered 3 sets ( 15 candles ). They are fabulous.So real looking that you expect them to throw off heat. The remote is a great tool to impress your young grandchildren with your magical powers.

One of the candles only turned on for a brief few seconds then went out. It smelled like something in it was actually burning. Two of the others wouldn't flicker, they only stayed on without movement. Returning.

I opened the box and they are SKINNY. My own fault for not reading the blurb. Just assumed that thru would be the usual fat candles. But the do look nice .
