Disciples' Literal New Testament: Serving Modern Disciples By More Fully Reflecting the Writing Style of the Ancient Disciples

I really like this New Testament
The arrangement of the paragraphs to coincide with the author's original thought and intent is an eye opener. Additionally, reading passages in English that most closely aligns with the author's language is illuminating. The translation from the original language into English, trying to get all the nuances framed into English sometimes creates awkward English sentences with somewhat longer phrases. For this reason, it's not for everyone. It's designed more for the ardent student of the Bible with a desire to understand it better. For decades now I've read and studied the Bible, using all sorts of Bible study aids and interpretations. It always felt like I was missing something in some passages and I struggled sometimes with which translation to trust. I mean, why is it so hard to get it right that there is a need for many translations, I thought to myself. After using this NT, now I see why there is some difficulty in getting the original phrases shaped into condensed English phrases. And now, I feel as if some kind of blinders have been removed so I can almost see the author and his heart for those to whom he wrote and total devotion to the Lord.

The best New Testament I have ever owned!
I purchased this book quite a while ago, and love it more and more every day. Along with Charles William's New Testament, this translation is excellent, most notably because of his faithfulness to the Greek verb tenses (especially the Present tenses and the Aorist tenses where context demonstrates a durational rather than one-time action). That changes everything, most notably the urgency of ongoing belief and holiness found when those passages are properly translated. His comments also keep a keen focus on the immediate context, as well as alternate translations and acceptable synonyms. I have been cross-checking his translation with the detailed work found in Life In The Son by Shank, and A.T. Robertson's Word Pictures in the New Testament, and Mr. Magill's faithfulness to the Greek is stellar. The best New Testament I have ever owned!

Good translation for Bible word study
I really, really enjoy studying words in the Bible. This New Testament does a lot of the work for me.I'm giving it only four-stars because the footnotes are difficult to follow. I have to use two hands to follow the text and footnotes at the same time -- using one finger on one hand to follow the text, which is written in a document style, and keeping a finger on the other hand on the footnotes, which are written also in a document style, at the bottom of the page.Even though I sometimes get frustrated trying to read this style of printing, I appreciate this literal translation.

Read It as It Was Written
I obtained Michael Magill's "TransLine" translation 10 years ago, and used it for all these years in an exhaustive NT study. My only real issue with "TransLine" was that after 7 years the Bible came apart into 5 major chunks. But the translation was wonderful--and all its features were so helpful for understanding the message. The "Disciples" NT is a very slightly refined version that does make you feel as if you are very nearly reading in the original Greek.

A Great Medium To Hear God's Voice
It's well written and easy to follow. I'd prefer less descriptions during the actual text, but it's so wonderful to read it as it was spoken...at least according to our understanding of how it was spoken. Really is one of my favorites of all time. So easy to hear God speaking!
