This makes the Weller and Hakko alternatives redundant. Who would spend 5X the money on these so-called better options.Yihua have certainly got their act together with this station - temperature is achieved in an instant and maintained likewise - the feel and quality of the iron is superb, which is what really matters - the station itself is solidly made and robustly weighty - the iron holder and bit cleaner dock can be mounted on the station itself or positioned at the side - a well made unit with a solder reel and bit holder.The on off switch requires a hefty push - so you have to hold the unit with the other hand to stop it moving - otherwise a superb piece of kit for the money. - get yourself a replacement spare iron and solder for the next 10 years knowing that there's nothing out there that's any better - Hakko fans take note.

I am really impressed with this station, it comes up to heat very quickly and it copes with soldering Pl259 plugs with ease.I had a small problem when it first arrived three of the soldering tips were slightly to small to go over the irons ceramic heat element, so I messaged the manufactures base that is in the UK, and they renewed them straight away.Great service!

The range in temperature and controls

So first glance ok. But then trying soldering small connection and soldering tip is to big and tip it self not hot enough to melt solder. Ok looking for other tip only big ones.

Got this because branded equivalent is much more expensive. I'm a hobbyist and this iron massively surpassed my expectations and saved me a fortune. I would highly recommend this iron and the brand I also have a hot air gun from them. Very easy to use and some interface it get to temperature very quickly and most important of all stays there while soldering.

The media could not be loaded. Not having soldered anything since school decades ago, I was really rather intimidated at first, especially since this is far more advanced than anything we had. It comes in a lot of bits but is incredibly simple to set up. It does state to wet the sponge with de-ionised water before use and I was lucky I recently got some for something else so be aware that’s an extra you might need. I’m not an expert so I can’t say how relevant it is to use that.For years I’ve wanted a soldering iron to get into PCBs and this is perfect. The little hands are very easy to manipulate and grip well and the magnifying tool is decent enough although I do think you need to get quite close. It comes with a spool of wire with enough to last some time with light work. The tool gets hot, very hot quickly, I don’t remember them getting this hot but I guess it makes sense, just another thing my inexperience shows, I do remember waiting ages for it to warm up back in the day.It also comes with some extra tips which is nice.Due to my inexperience I can’t state anything on its value but it does all feel very solid with all the basics thought of, it’s easy to set up and use and does a great job, so I’m happy with it especially as a beginner but I suspect this would work for professionals just as well.

Partially like how quick it was to set up and use.Really fast heating from cold, find the 4 pre-set buttons really useful and saves time.Only thing I would like is a simple way to change from degrees F to degrees C.Other than that, it is really good.Slight weakness is the illuminated magnification mirror. I had the repair it with a small amount of epoxy to make it stronger and permanent fit.A really minor problem and doesn’t deflect from the quality of the kit.

I am not very good at soldering. After buying this soldering station, my soldering improved (mostly by having temperature control), and I completed a fairly complicated project with no real problems.The gripping arms were stable and held the PCB well, the magnifier and light could be better, but did prove useful.So all in all, a good purchase for me.
