Blood, Sweat and Richard Madden
Sirens is a very funny and sometimes poignant snoop into the busy livesof three Emergency Medical Technicians, and stars Kayvan Novak as Rachid,a naturally funny character. Rhys Thomas plays the part of Stuart who isa likeable know-it-all with intimacy issues, and Richard Madden theswashbuckling star of Game of Thrones, playing a quiet sensitive gaycharacter, Ashley.Anne Beth Hayes plays a rather sexy Police Sergeant, who is looking forlove.Set in the city centre and suburbs of Leeds, we follow these three youngmen working for the West Riding Ambulance Service in their daily duties andseveral scrapes, as they pick up and deal with the injured, the drunk andbloodied detritus of urban life, whilst trying to find personal fulfillmentnot to mention sex, in their otherwise hectic lives.Funny, irreverent and smutty, this is a fun to watch series.Having seen Richard Madden in Klondike, Game of Thrones, and other moreserious films, it was great to see him take on this comedic role and beheard using his native Scots accent in this. Richard Madden is a qualityactor whose star is rising.Broadcast in 2011 on Channel 4, in six episodes, and released in 2012 ontwo discs. There is over 4 hours and 40 minutes viewing, with quite afew bloopers and extra features on disc two.I bought my copy from a third party seller Gemmavision, here on Amazonat a very reasonable price.Very funny, well worth viewing it you missed it on TV. Sad that SeriesTwo did not materialise. No Subtitles.

Nowhere near the comedy it should have been…
Nowhere near as good as I’d hoped, especially after paying such a high price for it. More based on private life stuff than actual ‘ambulance action’ which is what I’d bought it for.

Decent quality humour with a 999 crew
Sirens screened on Channel 4 in the UK in early 2011 and was followed up by the DVD release later that year. Sadly only one series was commissioned, all episodes of which feature on this two disc boxset.A good range of characters along with some very funny storylines make this discset worth viewing.Would have loved to have seen a further series or two of this.

quality humour
Sirens has a great combination of black humour counterbalanced - but never spoiled - by occasional sentiment. Worth checking out for Game of Thrones fans interested in seeing 'Rob Stark' in a very different role (he's just as good in this). A shame it didn't get a second season.

Laugh out loud one liners...very good characters who are both engaging and full of lifeThe series got better and better. Plenty of stand out moments and a thoroughly good tv serieswhich is highly under rated

Funny and intelligent series
Smart writing and thoughtful acting. The real life camaraderie of the actors comes through onscreen. Funny and touching.
