Make sure you READ
This is an excellent face guard, provided you have a Rawlings Mach helmet. One negative review (where it dangerously shattered) clearly shows from the pictures that it's an older model Rawlings helmet that clearly was never meant for it. My guess is the other negative review is the same. Guys, just read what its meant for and you won't have this problem, works great for a MACH helmet!!!

Great option for switch hitters!!!
My son switch hits, and I have been looking online trying to figure out a way to keep from having to buy a another helmet for when he bats the opposite way. First let me say, this is not hard to install, because my 13 year old son installed it. Secondly, when I bought this, I didn’t realize that you can easily just pop off the face guard when you don’t need it. The hardware that attaches the face guard to the helmet is clear, and it stays on the helmet. I just purchased another one for when he bats left. Now, He can simply just pop the one off that he doesn’t need and pop the other one on!! Brilliant! I’m surprised they don’t advertise this product as a great option for switch hitters!

Easy to install but......
Will not buy another helmet with this adjustable protector. Too easy for it to break.

Just what the doctor ordered
Ok, so the doc didn't order this, but such a great safety feature. My son is a switch hitter, so I loved being able to buy one helmet but have two of these for him to switch on and off. Makes it cheaper and much lighter to lug around. We also bought different colored ones so he knew quickly which was left and right. Easy on and off the helmet too.

Frustrating
This is the most frustrating item I’ve purchased in a while. Screw holes left no room for error and were slanted making it almost impossible to get screws to thread. Once I finally got screws in I couldn’t get the plastic attachment to actually seat the chin guard. Culmination was eventually busting the one metal piece built into the plastic piece completely off. Choose another model.
