...promising noisemongers...
A lot of people are saying very good things about Trigger The Bloodshed, bigging them as the next major UK death metal act. Which is a bit odd considering the number of major UK death metal acts can be counted on the fingers of Captain Hooks missing hand. But, hey, let's give them the time of day and see what happens.Things start of well with a montrous blast that leads into a somewhat generic track called 'Merciless Ignorance', which will be familiar to anyone over the age of eight. Fortunately, 'Laceration' comes along shortly afterwards to lay the opening nonsense to rest. An awesomely brutal number, it will definitely become an anthem to their fans.Elsewhere, there is promise on tracks like 'Rebirth' and 'Impregnable Miscreation', but it's when they manage to mix up their Cannibal Corpse influences with something new that it all starts to make sense. Check out 'Hollow Lovers' and 'Mortuary Walls' if you want to hear just how good these young bucks can be.It's not pure death metal, as they have too many nods to hardcore and grindcore for that, something that drags a few numbers down. When they stick to a purer sound, then they definitely show that they have the potential to play with the big boys, and hopefully indoctrinate a new generation in the power of metal. The band are technically proficient without hitting full speed, but for a debut, this is very, very good.

Brilliant debut!
I had never heard of Trigger The Bloodshed before a few articles in Kerrang, so I pulled up YouTube to check them out. 'Laceration' sounded really good so I took a chance on the album. It was a great idea. This is as brutal as anything, yet the riffs are awesome and once youve listened to the album, you want to listen to it all over again! Honestly! Tracks:'Inception': Just a 17 second build up to the first track.'Merciless Ignorance': great first track with a good riff and really sets the tone for the whole album. Just really really brutal. 5/5'Laceration': This was the first song I heard from these guys and the only song any of you would have heard from them i expect. This is an awesome song, even though there are better ones on here, this is still one of the best. 5/5'Rebirth': Quick track that is ok. Not much to say about it really but not a track you would skip. 3/5'The Defiled': Great track that is very very brutal but to be honest the whole album is and I can't single out tracks that are more brutal than others. Just great. 4/5'Severed': Short but probably the best on the album. Great riff and as heavy as ever. 5/5'Impregnable Miscreation': Awesome again. At first sounds similar to other tracks but after some listens you can actually hear the words and it becomes great. 5/5'Hollow': Not a song, just a build up to the next track, but these in the middle of some songs really give the album a special kind of feel to it.'Lovers': Another awesome track with a good riff. 4/5'Mortuary Walls': Similar to 'Lovers' at first but does sound different. Good but not one you will remember. 4/5'Violent Elucidation': Great yet again. Not much to say now, the tracks just are all good. 4/5'A Wretched Betrayal': Only 1 minute long but still pretty good. 4/5'Retribution': Awesome! One of the longest on the album even though its only just over 3 minutes long. Great riff and good vocals. 5/5'The Abortive Becoming': Good again. Not one that will stay in your head but one of those that when you hear it, you'll know it (if you understand (: ) 4/5'Domicile': Another 'skit' if you want to call it that in between songs. This is just a pig squealing. A bit weird to be honest.'Whited Sepulcher': The album is still going strong all the way up until the end. Great track. 4/5'A Perfect Casket': Starts very differently to all the other tracks, but then turns into a normal TTB song. One of their best actually. 5/5I may not have said much about each song in this review, and it may sound like they all sound the same, but let me assure you that is not the case. Each riff is different and even tho the vocals are similar, as soon as you hear a track after a couple of listens of the album, you will know which one it is. But don't take my word for it, give it a try! If your a fan of death metal then you will love this I assure you! These guys may be the future of the genre! Judging by this album, this time next year they will be huge!
