Cheap 'n cheerful, but still good value for money
I'll try to be as impartial as I can here.I bought 3 of these to replace some older lights I've been using for camping. Firstly I was impressed with the price. which was the main reason I bought them - I paid half of what I'd have to pay on the high street.Oh, yes, the product. Good light quality - Three used to light an awning on a tent and did a pretty good job of it too - I could read just about OK under the lights which were hanging at about 2m in the awning. However I would have needed the lights to be closer to sit and read a book under them all evening. Used one of them as a torch and it wasn't bad at that.I'm still impressed with how frugal LED's are on battery usage, so I don't really know if they're good or bad on that front. My personal experience is that they lasted a long weekend camping in late October when it was dark from very early on. So, they were on for from about 17:00 right through to 0:30 every night for three consecutive nights without any problems and there's still loads of life left in the batteries that came with them.Although the magnet looks a little on the small side, it still mounts on to any surface that a magnet will stick to.As for the hook, that's a little difficult to get it out of its 'parking' space if you've got big fingers, cold hands, wearing gloves or in my case - all three! I used a bit of pointed cutlery in the end!So, O.K. After all that, will I be buying some more of these?Yes I will, they are excellent value for money and the 'little niggles' are easily managed and outweighed by the plus points of price. let there be light
Thank you for the speedy delivery. I bought 10 of these lights and was delighted that they worked perfectly to hi-light our retro glass at a recent antiques fair. A good, blue white light. Easily and flexibly positioned - either flat, or standing or hanging - a great idea. As they are battery operated it gives us the flexibility we need without taking up too much space. Good value for money. Thank you.

Fantastic Value Useful In So Many Situations
I have half a dozen of these little 'torches' and I shall very likely buy more. With both a hook and a magnet on the back, they are extremely useful in all sorts of situations, very bright and fantastic value. The four I just bought from Amazon cost me a penny under £2 each, with free delivery, and batteries included. You can't buy a decent mug of coffee for that! So why are they so good, and why have I only given four stars? The lamps - for lamps they are really - are robustly built, run on 3 AAA batteries, have a simple push button on/off, and contain 24 LEDs that give out a very bright, white light. On the back is a swing out hook, that swivels so the lamp can hang flat against something, or sideways on, and there is also a small, round magnet set into the back. Sadly the magnet is at once both the bonus point of this lamp, and its achilles heel. On two of the six I have, the little circular magnet came away from the lamp after minimal use. In fact the second one came apart the first time I attached it to anything, leaving the magnet firmly fixed to the fridge door while the lamp was in my hand! Now this wouldn't put me off buying more, as it is a relatively simple task to stick it back with some strong glue, but it shouldn't happen and so is the reason I've given just four stars.Apart from this small flaw, the lamps, in my opinion, are well designed, although the back (to the battery compartment) being secured with two small cross head screws might not be to everyone's liking. I have other similar lights where the battery cover just clicks on, and it is continually falling off! So to me the screw closure is a good idea. Just a 'heads up' by the way, if you receive yours and think it's not working: in a very sensible move by the makers, they've wrapped one battery inside in cellophane, so that the lamp doesn't get switched on by accident in transit. It does mean that you need to unscrew the cover and unwrap the single battery before you can use the lamp, but I have walked away from displays of similar lamps in shops where it's clear they've repeatedly been switched on by interested customers and it's extemely likely that the batteries are close to being worn out, so again, in my view, this is a good move and well worth any momentary inconvenience.I have used them in a storage unit with metal walls - the magnets (when they don't come apart!) are strong enough to secure the lamp to any suitable metal surface - where the lamp lit up the contents beautifully; on the side of the fridge/freezer, tucked away in a dark cupboard under the stairs, so I can see my little wine store! In the garden shed, hung from a tool rail, and even on a bike, with a little bit of additional clamping to the handlebars. I also have two or three placed along what would be my escape route should I need to get out of the house in the event of an emergency like a fire, or just in a power cut. So for less than the price of a good coffee, this little beauty is well worth buying. Goodness. I should be on commission!

Very bright, slightly blueish, like it.
Compared to a very similar lookng product of a different brand, this has greater light output at the expense of a less perfect white. It is slightly blue or lavender in colour. Both products are excellent. They both have to be opened with a screwdriver, to remove insulation from a battery (pull off paper or plastic). They have a simple push on/off button, which seems ok.I have not found out how long the batteries last. They have a plastic hook, which can be swiveled all ways, and a magnet at the back, to place where needed.Hard to choose between them, but the choice to buy is an easy one.EDIT The magnet dropped out of this Amtech model, looks like a potential hazard to a child. This Amtech product has a small, strong magnet, the other has a weaker, larger magnet.

Great Product, shame about the damage.
We bought these to take camping as the reviews indicated that they are bright, portable and have a great battery life. They were delivered fast and are an excellent price and are indeed all of the above. The three stars is because the first lamp that arrived had a scuffed and cracked lens (it looked like it had been used and returned) which we sent back. The replacement didn't look much better, it similarly had a small crack on the lens but we have kept it and the crack doesn't affect the performance, we would just have liked a product that looked new when it arrived.
