Impressed for a sequel
I was very impressed at this book becasue it kept me wanting more as if I was watching a tv series. It jump for person to person just to keep you coming back after the next chapter, and best of all, it mostly gave you the view from both sides, loved that. The only thing I didn't like about the book was it kept introducing more and more people, I couldn't keep up with who was who and maybe its just me but I got to the middle of the book before I realize that Major and Gutter were in two different cities. I had to look back to see which set was being dumped on and what city the book was in at that point. I think some of the charatcter did not need to be introduced just to die and not play a significant part in the story.Overall I loved this book, I don't know if it was because it was different from all the other I read but if you want a book that will keep you on the edge and hoping they made another on to the story........ I highly reccommend these two books. Kwan please come with a third one!Note to all reviews: Please DONT give away the ending as some of you did. All I was waitint to get to in the book, was when is he gone get caught slipping.

Interesting
A good story marred by being too long. The editors should've cut about 100 pages from this book so that it could've been tighter and more focused. There were too many characters, too many chapters, too much meandering and waaay too much killing, and btw, I LOVE mayhem!!! It just seemed to overwhelm everything. Gratuitous violence ruins the story for me. Make it bloody and gory, BUT GIVE IT SUBSTANCE AND SOME RATIONALE!!! Gang violence is horrid, I get that, but I don't need 50 murders for that fact to be reinforced and accepted by me!!!😄😄😄This was a sequel, so I was gonna read it no matter what. I always endeavor to finish everything that I start. That being said, I'm not really disappointed, but I also felt as if this book wasn't necessary. ALL of this story could've been, should've been, encompassed in one book, IMHO. Some may not agree, and I can respect that. That's the beauty of opinions.😁😁😁With caveats, buy it, read it and enjoy!!👍🏾🔥👍🏾🔥👍🏾🔥

Crips up bloods down cuz,Gutter is straight up gangsta!!!
Before reading "Gutter" I had to read "Gangsta" again because it came out so long ago.A lot of sequels are not worth the wait it takes for them to come out & hit the streets. Not "Gutter" it's a sequel well worth the wait it took for it to come out,K'wan as always has done it again because his book game cant be touched.Good story line combined with strong character developement are the 2 things that a lot of these other urban authors are lacking but not K'wan as always he brings that fire and gives it to you raw.Lou-loc can rest in peace because his boy Gutter and the mighty crip nation settled the score big time. For all of you who have read "Gangsta" you owe it to yourself & K'wan to read the sequel "Gutter" you wont be disapointed,Don B from "Hood Rat & Still Hood" made a small cameo appearance to proove this. That's it for now,I just started reading "Bitch 3" so many books so little time.

The BEST sequel!
I already knew Gutter was going to be a pageturner before I started the first page and I was right! Gutter is the sequel to Gangsta. Gutter is married to Sharrell and has made it out of his coma. He is even more gutter and has more vengeance than ever to revenge his best friend, Lou loc's death. What he doesn't know is that someone has put out a contract on him and this person always fills his contracts no matter what the consequences are.Gutter's saying was killed or be killed and that's how his crew lived their life while banging for their set. Along the way friends and family warned Gutter that he should get out the game and change his life, but you'll have to read the book to see if he does. Every page of this book had me screaming at the characters, smiling, laughing, wiping tears and shaking my head. Gutter is a pageturner for sure! HIGHLY recommended for Kwan fans!

WOW!!!! Make this a MOVIE!!!
I am new to Kwans novels just started reading them in June of this year. Started with the short reads like "Leak" and "From Harlem with love" and went straight into his whole "Hood Rat" series. I then went on to read "Gangland" which bought me to read "Gutter" and OMG is all i can say. This book will leav you thirsty to read more of his work. You get to meet the two children of your favorite characters OG's Gutter and Lou-Loc and you get the story of what happened after Gutter awoke form his Coma, if you think he was thirsty for blood then that would be an understatment.I hope that this book continues as maybe Dollar can go on to tell us the story of LIL Gunn and Danny. Those where 2 charcaters that left me wnating to get to thm know them better. so all in all hands down to you K'wan, youve done ur thing again!

Wow
I love this book from start to finish. I like how it tells Gutters story about how he started banging. I wish it didnt end like that though it was a good book.
