Impressive monitor
Bought from Amazon when the constantly varying price was at a lower level so pleased with the cost as well as the performance. It is an A01 version. I've yet to notice a faulty pixel and I don't go looking for things like backlight bleed so have not seen a problem there either.I don't understand the review criticising the gaming performance. I've been playing FPS games online and not noticed any lag. maybe I'm not good enough to see it or maybe there is no problem. What it is though is immersive. the wide aspect means you feel like you are in the game rather than just looking at a screen. Frame rates with a r9 290x card in the games I play are passable at full resolution and look great. It has replaced a 2 monitor set up and even though I have a few less pixels in width the 1440 height just makes it feel like more desktop area than before.Lightroom has so much working area now. You don't realise what extra options the desktop space gives you until you have it. I have edited a number of pictures to crop them to 3440 1440 aspect for desktop backgrounds and the full screen images look stunning and show details I would never have noticed before without zooming in.The curve is subtle and sitting in front of it hardly notices. I can't imagine it would have mattered if it was flat instead. It comes in a big box with a 'team lift' sticker on it. It is heavy but not that heavy! The packaging is a work of cardboard art and opens in a way that is easy to lift the screen out. The stand clicks in place without needing tools and is very secure.I used the supplied mini displayport to displayport cable. The monitor has mini and standard inputs so as my card has displayport out I used the mini on the monitor. At first power on it did not auto switch to mini input - it just said no displayport input. Took a few seconds to realise I was using mini and needed to use the menus to switch input. No problem after that. Win 7 started off at full resolution and the monitor stays on the selected input.Probably the best thing about it so far is it just makes me smile looking at pictures in a new way.

Died and went to widescreen heaven
For absolutely no reason, I decided I needed a new monitor to replace a Samsung 27" IPS display. After doing the usual OCuK and Youtube research I almost decided on an LG panel or some ACER model coming out in Nov' 15. These panels sounded great from a technical standpoint but to me, they look pretty lame in terms of build quality and style. Both of which having poor buttons, little to no swivel/height adjust and all round the usual tacky looking plastic finish. I enjoy LG/Acer products, but they aren't what I would call prestigious brands, y'know? The Aldis of monitors! This monitor kept popping up during my Amazon research and thought to myself, ugh DELL, how 2002!But it turns out this was the best of the bunch in terms of well roundedness. I purchased my Samsung 27" for around £800 at the time in 2013. The monitor was fantastic but the panel would wobble on it's spine when touching it. It's kind of like an annoying uncle who says rubbish all the time but you don't mention it because you love him. Why would an £800 monitor wobble profusely? At least the panel is calibrated to perfection! Just don't mention the wobble, you may hurt it's feelings. The U3415W is a stylish looking monitor with no GAMER STYLINGS, horrible glossy black plastic and certainly no Samsung wobble. It's discreet looking and I love how the monitor swivels so easily. The height adjust is solid and doesn't slide down by a few millimeters when finding posistions.Another bugbear with my old monitor (you'd think I hate my old Sammy, eh?) was it's capacative power button - what a nightmare to press on/off. The power button for this [Dell] monitor is also Capacative but turns on with little effort and always works first try. Unlike uncle Sam[my].The panels colours are great and all that; other reviewers have covered this. I run Flux 24/7 so everything is urine coloured anyway to save my lameduck eyes. Although when disabled for colour work and the occasional video viewing, it does have amazing colours. But I have been so used to IPS panels now - I wouldn't notice any improvements. The same can be said for a 2k resolution; text clarity is lovely and so is Windows 10 scaling options (for increasing sizes of things like fonts/icons/UI). You will never go back to 1920x1080.The stand is very good and sturdy and generally the whole monitor is a solid built item. I am really chuffed with my purchase and am glad I went with DELL instead of Aldis and Nettos (LG and Acer). Would BenQ be LIDLs?Watch a few YouTube reviews to get a feel for the construction of the monitor- there are a few chaps doing unboxings and the like. You will not be unhappy with your purchase. 21:9 aspect ratio is amazing for working and gaming, Excel is now my female dog.

Very good buy. Ticks all the boxes
Arrived day after I ordered it. Chosen over the 34LC88 because of Dell warranty. Very well packaged (usual Dell standard?). Setup without a hitch.Looks well built - is as sturdy as anything can be this size! Height / swivel adjustment is good and very smooth.Display quality excellent. Couldn't ask for more.Lost one star (due to geek vs bean counter argument?) due inputs? Favours HDMI 2.0 over display port, which would have been my choice.OK, they likely know better than me :-) I still managed to connect my two machines with no issues.Minor(?) issue of disposing of the packaging....Update. One month in. Laid the screen (on the bevels, just) to change the connections. Slipped and dropped.. 4mm? from bevel to screen. Weight of device sufficient to break the display. Not the plastic cover, just the electronics behind it (LCD or whatever).Lovely display, just rather too fragile. If I can claim insurance, I shall buy another.Ah well.Warning: Take great care when connecting cables - it is less robust than I thought.

Far from perfect gaming monitor
Pros:- great colours- good contrast- flicker free- anti-glare coated- solid stand- useful curve display shape- useful 21:9 aspect ratioCons:- not impressing response time (8ms in normal mode)- noticable side effects (overshooting) in response time fast mode (5ms)- not impressing input lag (19ms)- possibly IPS glowing- uniformity compensation inflexible in options"Should I buy it for gaming?"8ms response time + 19ms input lag is still ok for most kind of gaming (even FPS) today but some of ultra-hardcore FPS gamers may feel uncomfortable with that overall latency.
