It's James Bond, what's not to love?
Very happy with the Blu-rays - one for each of the movies (Casino Royale, Quantum, and Skyfall). Chances are, if you're reading this, you already know a fair bit about the films and have most likely seen them at the cinema, so I won't go into details of the plots - there are plenty of other places you can read about that.Just to clarify, in my set (unlike a previous reviewer), I got just these 3 Blu-ray films. It came in a blue plastic DVD case, and there wasn't any code for a download of Skyfall, nor was there a regular DVD of Skyfall. I was a little disappointed, simply because the other review had led me to expect these, although they aren't detailed on the product info page on Amazon. But it's still a great buy - 3 Blu-rays for a good price - and I'd have bought it on that basis anyway. So far, I've only watched Skyfall, but if the others are equally good quality, I'll be very happy with these additions to our Bond collection.

Good start.... poor finish
I admired Daniel Craig for his acting long before he came to the Bond films. Despite much initial concern about his suitability for the character of Bond I think he has brought a new rough masculinity which made Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace sufficiently raw and different - films which I enjoyed and which I felt had a sustained excitement and production quality throughout.Skyfall, unfortunately, is another matter.Every new Bond film has an impressive list of predecessors to match, or improve upon, and, taking the Bond genre all in, we have worked our way through gadgets, glamour, incredible technological weaponry, and global threats on an apocalyptic level. It was perhaps inevitable that such a fantastic diet could not be maintained indefinitely. So, to try to make things a bit different, the film-makers opted for a lower profile 'revenge' theme as its central plot. However here, in Skyfall, we now see a very ordinary, very tired, and below-par Craig, an equally tired and dispirited M (Judi Dench), and a somewhat jokey and abstracted villain Silva (Javier Bardem). In fact Silva appears as a rather forlorn figure, without any of the usual villain-ish trappings of vast wealth and organisational power, and hardly commands respect as a major aggressor to the civilised world we are used to seeing in this type of movie. The disappointment is generally caused through a weak and tired script: the obsessive revenge theme between Silva and M, being decorated by side-actions and subplots which are slight, unconvincing, and do not sustain credibility. The vital missing list of agents, for example, so important at the beginning of the film, is simply forgotten as the film rolls on.There just isn't the high-octane excitement, or the big build-up. What should have been a thrilling climax shoot-out at the end is amateurish and predictable in both concept and arrangement; in short, worthy of a 'B' movie. All the actors are capable of giving so much more, and deserve better material to work with. What on earth is the likes of Ralph Fiennes doing in such a relatively slight cameo role?In the Bond films to date we have been used to seeing beautiful, larger-than-life characters, doing remarkable and frighteningly dangerous things on fantastic sets. That is what they were about, and why they appealed. Skyfall under-performs in just about all those areas (with the exception of beautiful BΓ©rΓ©nice Marlohe), and has not got any compensating features to counterbalance the deficit. (To know what I think is 5-stars worth of excitement and plot development is, look to the Bourne trilogy.)I don't know what the Bond producers will try next; in fact, for nostalgic and sentimental reasons, I hope they don't make another Bond movie.

each and every actor - good in his own right
Our eldest son is a Bond fan, therefore I have bought the Daniel Craig 007 Triple pack to complete his collection regarding his birthday. I saw my first Bond film - "Doctor No" when I was 15 yrs-old.Naturally if there is one thing that dates a movie - its how technology has moved on. In this Bond movie - \Doctor No - we see an "Imperial" manual typewriter, later in Diamonds Are forever - we are looking at cassette tapes. But being a Bond fan - this does not distract or enter ones mind as you watch them. Sheer escapism, the silver screen would have been a much poorer place without Bond. Every single film is a Gem, each and every actor - good in his own right.

Great Film
Bought this because it was cheaper than paying for on demand film. The standard 1080p film which is good enough for me and I can watch it again anytime.

Must have for every Craig-as-Bond fan!
Simply a must have piece, and just for the exquisite quality of the Blu-ray format.. It's so fulfilling to be able to re-live the excitement of the theater experience in the convenience of your home..Great scenes, great esthetics.. I get that different people love different movie(s) of the three, but -to me- still worth every penny!I, personally, will end up wearing the Skyfall disc off - especially at the end of the beginning scene, where Bond falls into the water and the GORGEOUS, AWARD-WINNING, Adele soundtrack kicks in..Relive and enjoy the Craig-Bond stories in simply stunning video and audio quality (all three movies in DTS-HD Master Audio)
