My grandson was 2 when he received his. He's turning 4 next week and he still loves it! Filling the gas, turning it on and off, the pull starter are all fun to use at any height/age. It's a great toy!

Q: does the cord actually pull out like a real lawn mower ?

Yes, it does. However, the cord did break after a couple weeks of my son pulling it. (He was not very gentle) As long as your gentle it should last without any problems.

Q: Have there been any updates made so the mower will roll on the grass?

I can't for sure if its been updated, however we've had no issues with the little one rolling the mower in the grass. Hope this helps.
