I originally borrowed this book from my library, then decided to purchase it. It is exceptionally good for beginners and breaks down all explanations of how to draw, into easy steps, upon which you build. It explains how all drawings can be viewed as building up a picture overlaying each step with another. It explains about perspective, how to see it and understand it and to replicate it. There are lots and lots of easy to follow diagrams to help you get started and to support you. If you can already draw well, this book is not for you, except maybe the chapter on perspective and depth, but it is good for adults and children alike. It assumes no previous knowledge and goes a long way to hand holding, which I think most beginners need. I would definitely recommend this book for anyone who does not want to get flummoxed by an overload of information.

Got this for my 14 year old for Christmas as she has recently showed an interest in art and wants to do it for GCSE. It’s a fantastic book. The front of it explains which tools you should use and the instructions throughout are easy to follow but not childish. She is loving trying new ways of drawing is producing fantastic artwork! Delivery was very quick as always with amazon.
