Another quality unit from JVC
I haven't got any home audio equipment by JVC, always thought of them as the cheaper end but their car audio is another matter, pound for pound you will find more features in a JVC and they are well worth considering. I own another JVC unit and was going to re-use it but wanted Bluetooth and the added attraction of this unit's ability to control Spotify on your phone directly. Comparing the two this unit is lighter, maybe not as robustly built but what is these days, it's not flimsy nor does it look cheap in any way, it's just not such a reassuring old brick.Fitting was easy with the right connects 2 kit and trim removal tools of course. I installed this with the car's stock speakers still in place and have used it for nearly a month now before finally installing new Focal speakers today. There is an immediate improvement in sound even with stock speakers, massive range of sound settings and adjustments and plenty of tweaks you can play with, adjustable colour so you can match your car display, Bluetooth connectivity to phone for music (you can link up to 5 for this) and for calls (you can link 2 for this), a USB socket and an audio DIN socket, oh and radio if you still listen to that! From the rear you can run to a separate sub if you wish. Bluetooth works well, connection to devices is good and i have had no drop outs, taking calls is easy and sound is clear, you can access numbers from the unit to make calls but that's best left to your passenger. How does it sound? Really good. Clear, detailed across the range if you persevere with the equaliser and hit the sweet spot, plenty of bass with detail in the middle and bright noticeable highs, this is a quality performer for the price.I don't use a separate amp or sub but having just installed a set of quality speakers as well the sound has gone to another level again. If you just want a better head unit then this is well worth considering, match it with better speakers too and you will be well pleased with the results, if you are doing a full upgrade then this will serve you brilliantly as the centrepiece. There are more expensive units out there but ask yourself what you are paying for? At this price this JVC is a star performer and well worth your money. Recommended

So much bang for your buck
I decided to upgrade my speakers and stereo as the whole lot were old and were getting very tired. The head unit I had was a Chinese android and the speakers were the original Ford.I did the speakers first and this showed just how far gone the head unit was.I scanned for a new unit and read a few reviews on this and for the price I thought yeah ok.All I can say is........WOW !How JVC has come up with a sound this gives out and all its features for the price is staggering. They must be making a loss with this.It has AUX and USB on the front of the unit. A massive plus in my opinion.Bluetooth pairing is easy and flawless and there's a CD player to boot. There's enough features in the menus to keep you busy optimising the sound to your taste. In my car it's hard to go above volume 20 and there's still another 16 notches to go.I don't have a sub but you can control it from the unit.Radio reception is hit and miss but I think that is more the car rather than the JVC. I've downloaded and stream an app called Radio UK from the App Store and it streams beautifully.Literally DAB on the cheap.£4 well spent there.Make sure you get a decent ISO cable. The £8 efforts did nothing.I had to pay £43 for mine as it needed a Canbus but even so you're still getting an amazing stereo for well under £200.A word of warning.Make sure your speakers are up to it.This little baby will quite happily blow old and tired speakers. For the price it's hard to beat.Unconditionally recommend.
