No , it's sealed unit. Battery is lithium so will probably never go bad, so being as cheep as this is. Better to buy whole new unit anyway.. I do have 4 of these and all work great..

Q: Can you use this for an outdoor natural gas fire pit?

If the length reaches to where you need the spark, it should work. The only thing is that the spark is instantaneous versus a lighter which has a continuous flame. If you have to wait for the gas to arrive at the spark you will be sparking it repeatedly until it lights. But, it should work.

Q: Can you refill this lighter?

It’s a chargeable lighter so you charge it to keep it working. No physical “refills” needed

Q: Can you light pipes or cigars with it

It's probably possible but not very practical. I imagine it would be very difficult to light a cigar let alone a cigarette. As for a pipe I've never smoked one. I had a friend who's grandfather smoked one but I don't believe I've seen anyone smoke one other then him except on old movies lol. This lighter is good for candles and oil lamps. It obviously doesn't have a flame so you'd probably have difficulty lighting a camp fire or anything that doesn't have a wick. On the one had its probably great for fireworks lol.
