For a clear complexion. Safely and gently remove blackheads and whiteheads with this stainless steel dual sided essential for clear skin maintenance. A must have for the DIY at-home-facial fan. Use with extreme care. Take a hot, steamy shower or use a hot washcloth to open pores. For whiteheads, wait until the blemish has broken open then gently glide the long, flat loop over it to release debris from the pore. Use the opposite side's smaller, angled wire to gently press out blackheads without damaging skin. Remember to always sterilize tool first with alcohol or antibacterial soap and hot water. Use on only pre-cleansed skin and be sure to clean both skin and tool again after use.

Excellent if handled with care !
My first comment is that the redness/marks left on the skin after using this are *nowhere* near as bad as what you get when using your fingers. I find it almost unavoidable to do damage that way, unless I cut my nails really, really short (which I am not willing to do). Even with tissues wrapped around my fingers, the pressure is exerted inefficiently around the pore and does much more harm than good. However, using this little tool, I can effectively single out a pore that needs cleaning, without traumatising the skin around it more than necessary. This means in a few hours (or let's say a day) the redness fades away - whereas using fingers would do damage lasting for whole days...!!I can't stress enough how happy I am to finally have come across this! With it, I was able to stop damaging my skin so severely, as I used to when using my fingers (sad remembrance)...Of course, to provide such results, I recommend steaming your face (e.g. over a large bowl of boiled water) for about 15 mins (once or twice, if it seems like the blackheads are too stubborn) and only then attempting to remove any black-/whiteheads. This opens the pores and further reduces the damage on the skin. Also, I think a sideways motion with the tool works best, rather than pressing down hard, straight around the pore - as that will also cause more damage. Finally, when finished, some astringent (preferably with antibacterial properties too) should be applied (toner or mask), to be followed by healing and comforting face masks.Last step after wiping away the mask(s) - you can use a serum or your usual face cream, and you're done. Preferably all these steps will have been taken on a day you can stay in, so you can let your skin heal naturally after the aggression, without it being necessary to cover it up with makeup any time soon. Also look out for online tutorials on how to use this tool. Hope this helps!

a bit dissapointed
I had high hopes for this little tool as it got lots of great reviews, and being made by twezzerman I thought it would be much better quality than the cheap one I had at home. I really don't like it and find it pretty useless to be honest although it seems well made and obviously works for others.I find I have to press so hard that I am bruising, I know the technique to use and have tried everything but it just doesn't work to extract anything and I'm left with a red painful face!I still rated it high as I think it was my mistake and I bought the wrong thing but just wanted to warn you incase your skin is similar. I have mild acne in areas and lots of blocked pores on my chin. I'm not too sure if they're whiteheads or closed comedomes - is that the same thing? Anyway using this on them only aggravated it and developed into a full blown spot. I did not use this on active acne just the congested pores, I think this might work for blackheads brilliantly as the pore is not completely blocked.

Does the job
I gave it 4 stars because it was good, but with the great reviews it received I expected it to be fantastic.I like the tool, it does the job well, but i guess I was hoping the blackhead would come out quite quickly so you have to apply a lot of pressure to get a the results you want and the increased pressure applied doesn't necessarily mean loads of blackheads will be released in one hit.Overall, it does work but you will have a red nose and marks from where you have applied the tool on your nose, chin, cheek etc. However, I found it works best on your nose.I like this product and use it on a weekly basis, but wouldn't rely on it to clear pores completely. Best to be used in conjunction with other pore cleansing/minimising products.Overall a good buy.

Only blackhead tool that works
I've used soooo many blackhead scrubs and pore cleansing strips over the years but this tool is the only thing that actually cleans out my blackheads. I don't use the smaller loop, I use the longer one and use the side of it to slide down the sides of my nose and bridge of the nose. The oil or sebum that comes out is disgusting but it just shows how much crap I have stuck in my pores without using this! I use the very tip of the longer loop on individual blackheads that are left over.I only use this when I come out the shower and I am very careful not to use too much pressure as you can damage the skin on your nose, also you will end up looking like rudolph once you are finished so don't use this just before you go out!Last thing, I have a few blackheads on my chin and the sides of my nose but this tool doesn't work on them, but I am just so glad I can clean out the ones on my nose!

A must have in your bathroom
I had a back cleanse at a beauty salon months ago; they used steam and scrubs and then extracted any imperfections using a little metal tool. And it didn't hurt a bit.So I went looking for one of those for removing blackheads on my nose. I don't have a lot but enough to want something more effective.Good - Yes, you can use your figures, but you can't get at some of them especially on the edges, and this thing works. Yes, it does leave little marks, but they disappear. Steaming for about 3-4 minutes before helps too, as well as a scrub to remove dead skin cells before also helps. I don't use alcohol astringents as they dry out my skin and promote more oil production - but a little cool water afterwards works well.Bad - I think it would work even better if, instead of the metal having round edges on the loop, that the metal had flatter edges, so it sits on the skin flat.A good buy, wish I'd found it sooner.
