Hi, rapeseed oil contains more unsaturated fats than Olive and has more Omega 3 so should be healthier. They say it is better for cooking as it has a higher temp than other oils. I cook, bake, fry,roast with it. I also mix a concoction of herbs, garlic and spices with it to spread on toast.

Can it be used as massage oil as rapeseed oil is commonly used as physio oil

Is not its use as a 'physio oil' basically for massage or some form of skin lubrication? In any case, I see that one company (Cebra) is selling 100ml of cold pressed Extra Virgin Rapeseed oil specifically for massage - and only wants £5 for it. So Just rapeseed oil at 0.44p per 100ml would seem a good buy. Of course, if you want it to smell of something more defined, then you'll need to add a few drops of so-called 'essential oils'. Which will bump the cost up.

Once opened, how long will this keep in a dark cool place? Theres only me and my boyfriend, and i dont want the oil to spoil before i can use it all.

oil does accumulate unwanted free radicals if kept for a long time, temperature is most important, at least 1 year unopened quite safe. Used for frying - re-use once only. I bought the oil displayed, Rapeseed, English farm processed, high smoke point, very healthy. Regards, Stan.
