Chosen after much deliberation over mixed reviews, though all preamps seem to have a few 1 star even when most are 5 star.Set up reasonably easy to follow. Connected to new Denon receiver/ CD player, 30 odd year old NAD turntable and Mordaunt Short speakers. Worked straight away, no buzz , good volume with plenty to spare. Sounds good to my less than perfect hearing. For the price very good. All in all no complaints. Time may tell.

Fast service , simple and effective, good sound quailty

I have a system that requires a pre-amp and my old one packed. It was a cheap and cheerful version which did not have a very good sound. It was ok but volume needed to be turned up which meant that noise was also amplified. It did not have a separate earth connection so it did produce some hum. Having reviewed many items on Amazon this item seemed to meet my requirements and I decided to spend more than I would normally. On receipt of the delivery which was ahead of time, I found that it had a European 2pin PS. I contacted the seller who immediately responded and apologised. They also said they would send me the adaptor the next day which they did. Now I could test. Having connected the earth cable to the pin terminal using the thumb screw and turning the power on, the sound came out of my system. The first thing I noticed was no hum! Volume was higher so the setting could be wound down. All expectations met! Just make sure you get the 3pin UK adaptor.

used between my record deck and technics hi-fi amp, as no phono input on amp, needed a pre-amp . nice sturdy box, easy to set up and use, the downside is that i have to whack up my volumeon the hi fi amp to max to get a reasonable sound level out, and i dont mean blowing up the neighbours level,found same unit on e-bay for a little less

I own an Audio Technica LP120XUSB and whilst I really like this turntable, I’ve always felt that the sound is a little on the dull side. My Hifi is set up in a bedroom with a double bed, thick carpeting, thick curtains etc - so it is not the acoustically ideal space. I have read that the built in preamp in this turntable is good but can be improved upon. I decided to try an external phono preamp to see if it makes any noticeable difference. A lot of stuff to do with Hifi systems is snake oil. I plugged this preamp in and was expecting little difference but got a huge surprise. I was amazed at how much brighter and detailed the sound was - even at low volume. The mids and trebles are much clearer and the bass is less flabby. It is like getting your ears syringed!! I am delighted with the upgrade and want to listen to all my records (all 950 of them) to hear how they now sound.My system is: turntable (AT LP120XUSB); amplifier (NAD C 320 BEE); speakers (Dali Spektor 2).

Terrific sound from my Marantz turntable, easy setup, only issue is on -off button, difficult to see if on or off, an indicator light would've helped, but a marvellous gadget, can play all my vinyls again...

The built in preamp in.my turntable died. So got this and lo and behold it sounds even crisper now!Would give 5* except for no light on power switch. Otherwise great value product

Not impressed by this item all it did was distort the sound returned item and delivered back on the 6/1/25 and now have to wait until the 13th for my refund and having to pay for postage not really good enough and will never buy from this seller again
