New MKJ39170828 Service Remote Control for LG LCD LED TV

We were able to us right out of the package it is designed for a smart TV.My TV isn't but it works all the same

Buttons are too hard to push, too mushy and un-responsive. Will return for refund.

Just unpacked this service remote for LG TV. but there is no users manual. so where can I download manual to know how to use this service remote for accessing hidden menu?

If you ever replace a main board from e Bay into a still good but slightly older LG LED tv, this is that remote you need. It has in-start for changing the model number and serial numbers, country code, etc. it also has the adjust button, which on some models allows you to “upgrade” the tv. They used to sell options like THX has a $500 upgraded model back in 2011. It takes 15 seconds to unlock that feature with this remote. That’s it! I have a large 3D home movie collection, 3D blurays and 3D console games, without fixing the old tv, 3D would be lost forever. Or you’d have to wear an oculus helmet.Word of wisdom, there is a cheaper t-con board to fix permanent lines on a display, those are plug and play. If you replace the main board, because hdmi ports are damaged, or the screen is all garbled, then you’ll want the remote to tweak whatever used board you get to the model you have. The software was used in dozens of manufacturers and models. Be careful to make sure the board you buy looks pretty identical to what you have, connectors etc. the same model tv can have several completely different boards depending on where and when it was built.

Most people, myself included, will be interested in this remote primarily to access the TV's service menu. To that end, it works perfectly fine. You also could use this remote for controlling the TV normally, and it's usable but not amazing in that regard. There are, at least, a few convenient buttons on this remote that don't appear on the original one (such as direct selection of specific input/HDMI ports).Build quality is toward the basic end, with the remote's buttons feeling stiffer than ideal. The plastic casing is lightweight and thin, and my unit came with minor imperfections around the battery compartment. Overall, this remote gets the job done, but you won't mistake it for a premium product. 3.6 stars.

Simply put the batteries in and point at the TV and it just works. This is a great replacement remote for any LG TV. Functionality wise this works just like the factory remote.Definitely recommended.

This remote works well with my LG smart TV's. The presentation is somewhat different than the original remote but the buttons are well labelled and fairly intuitive. One thing that I do like on this remote versus the original is the easy access to the input buttons at the bottom of the remote. Usually you have to access this from the input menu.One of the TV's in the kitchen either had an update or when relatives were visiting they may have changed the way the inputs work and now the TV does not default to the last input. With this remote it is very easy to get the right input working with a single button click. This is not a problem for me but my 87 year old mother has issues dealing with technology and this makes it easy. I really like this remote for that reason alone.
