Recoil Laser Combat - RK-45 Spitfire Blaster (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

These things are really solid - feel good and meaty in your hands so you feel like it's a legit weapon. The feedback feature is really cool as well. Just beware of the rapid battery drain on the batteries in the units themselves as well as the smartphone you attach. I had 5 total guns doing group fights with the kids - it was a true blast, but a bit glitchy. Will try again, but need to buy new batteries!

A little background on me is that I'm a 21 year old college student. I work part time and go to school full time so I don't have much free time. I've used this a few times and even bought extra controllers to play with more people. It's a great way to sneak in some exercise while being immersed into a live action game. When I explain it to my friends I always tell them, I feel like how I felt as a kid playing Counter Strike except this is real life and I'm getting my cardio in rather than just sitting down. haha. The attention to detail with the controller to have a feedback when you press the trigger and have a red light show up was pretty cool to me. I haven't had any problems playing so far and I wish I had more time to play with my friends! Would definitely recommend this game to my friends and maybe I can convince more people to get a controller as well. The more people, the merrier!

Bought an additional gun to have fun with the wife and kid. Only tried an inside skirmish, so I may be updating it if the Outside modes are better.Pros:-- Love the actual recoil of the gun. Gives a nice little kick for each shot and a bright light.-- Highly versatile, allowing you to set up pretty much anywhere.Cons:--Lottery with quality. First set I bought was perfectly fine. Another gun I got was broken out of the box. Fortunately, I was offered a fast exchange.Range of hub: The wifi hub was easily blocked by walls, or simply crouching too low. Hopefully a firmware can fix this, or future ability to add more hubs to the map.--Accuracy of guns: I know they're lasers, and more range should equal better accuracy, but it's not consistent.--Lag between guns and phone: The trigger feedback to the phone is nice, but would be better if it wasn't half a second slow. Similarly, getting shot has a near full second delay.--Setting up matches: Setting up a match is a walkthrough every time, and may not work properly the first time. It took me three tries before I could set up a game with only two participants. Fortunately, third time was the charm and it was mostly smooth from there.--Requiring a phone at all to play: The guns don't keep track of anything. You need a smart phone that can download the app. Sure, everyone has a smartphone nowadays, but I don't quite like the idea of giving a child a smartphone to literally run around with. I would much prefer it requiring a phone to set up and act as master host to work with the hub, instead of every individual requiring their own phone.Overall, the match was still fun, but the system has a lot to be desired. It's a bit of a pain NEEDing smartphones, and I'm not overly inclined to run around with my phone attached to this gun, but the grip was strong and mitigated my concerns somewhat. Other than that, it was a decent at home system.

This is a great game, I know know why it isn't more popular, my friends and I have been enjoying it, only wish there was some additional variety to the equipment (we do own the rifles, the pistols and the grenades)

The gun looks awesome and it’s a good size. But the quality isn’t very consistent. I bought 2 of them and one didn’t work. It just wouldn’t turn on when I put the batteries in. The other one works just fine.

This would b a phenomenal product and I would rate it 5 stars, but it requires flagship phones to be useful. Please note that without an android or apple device running Android 6.0 or better, or Apple OS6 or better, it will not work.I had 2 Galaxy S4 phones that were incompatible, which made the product useless for our household. I purchased a total of 6 guns, 2 starter kits and 2 separate spitfire blasters, but ended up only being able to use them with Galaxy S7s and a Galaxy J3. The other 3, were useless unless we purchased a phone capable of running the higher version of Android.For us, kids running around the back yard with $200 to $800+ phones to play laser tag wasn't worth the risk, so we returned all of them.Make sure you go to Recoil's website to view compatibility with devices before purchase as there are no advertisement statements with regards to which devices work.Other than that, it works GREAT. The hit mapping, GPS, and everything WIFI work incredible. This could be the next evolution in Laser tag, but they need to work it for the masses, not the rich, who can afford to spend the money on Flagship phones just to play.

This has been a lot of fun for myself and my friends to use. It works fantastically, though it's a matter of personal preference which style of fun is better for this game. Definitely not a kid's game as if you aren't careful, you can break a cellphone. Or hasn't happened to us yet, but it is a possibility

The whole family is enjoying these. Our son got a battery warning on first day. He tried to open the battery compartment with the power drill and stripped the screw. Tip: only use manual screw driver. It’s just a small screw that only needs to be loosened and that takes a couple twists... super easy with a hand held screwdriver..

Great addition to our recoil connection. Lots of outdoor fun!
