Do NOT trust this book!
If you follow the torque specs and directions in this book you will almost certainly cause major engine damage.Torque specs for cam thrust plate are too high (and can snap the bolts off).I was lucky enough to break one during rebuild. Otherwise I expect it would have happened on the road.Torque specs and directions for the HEAD BOLTS are wrong. Following this book, you will almost certainly under-tighten the head bolts and blow your head gaskets.I was lucky enough to have just enough experience with machines to get a creepy feeling that the torque felt low. And in part because I already had run into bad data in the book, I looked to other sources and found the errors (yes, multiple errors).I am hoping that there isn't anything else I've already done wrong deep in this engine because I trusted this reference. Only time will tell. This is my first engine rebuild, so I am in the crowd most at risk of simply following bad directions. My advice to Amazon on this:These are HIGH PERFORMANCE engines that are going into vehicles that are often driven hard by proud owners. For liability issues alone, I wouldn't want to be associated with this book in any way whatsoever.

Well worth the price.
A lot of good info, all in one place, with some good clear pictures. Very satisfied with this purchase.

This book was a disappointment for me
This book was a disappointment for me. I was hoping for a book that would give details about swapping a Gen 3 hemi into an older muscle car and there really was not that much useful info to be found. The chapter on ignition was a terrible gloss thru of what was out there in the aftermarket and was incomplete at that, making me think the author had little experience in this aspect of the new generation of EFI based engines. A lot of the info in the book was boiler plate fluff on general engine building info to, I assume, fatten up the content of the book, look no further than the chapter on exhaust systems, or the info on how to degree a cam.. There was a lot of redundancy throughout the book, how often can you mention Arrow Racing Engines and the Canadian Pintey Series in one book? I was really hoping this book would focus on factory parts and their interchangeability instead of the emphasis on what was out there in the aftermarket. I feel like I did not get my moneys worth. Bottom line is there is some good info in this book and if you are building a racing Gen 3 hemi it will be more valuable to you than it was to me. The author did spend time doing comparison tests of various parts combos and presents this information and dyno results which should be of value to some readers. The book left me with many unanswered questions and I know for a fact that there is better info available on 3G hemi combos in various internet forums than what was presented in this book.

Some typos, but some new info
Learned a few things from the book that weren't obvious from the internet, especially on the 426 engine specs. The book is full of typos, mis-spellings, etc. It reads like it was dictated, then typed up by someone who doesn't even have a driver's license, and edited by nobody. Some of my favorites: "Do not print that. When I wrote this I thought it would be a race-only part...", "TriTek Heads", the tables have a lot of mistakes etc. I got my money's worth.

A good start
For people familiar with Mr. Shepherd and previous generation Mopar engines this provides a good broad overview of the new Hemi engine. Broad overview being the key. I would have liked to have more specific information or even a chapter devoted to retrofitting these into classic cars. In all though this is a good book. A good introduction to the subject.

Needs improvements
Some good Info and some not so good. Error on the most important torque sequence but comes with a sticker that has the correction. I was hoping for something better. Returned

Great reference guide
Good info. Alot of the info you can skim from the internet, but nice to have a book to flip through and not worry about which website and who again dropped that knowledge you need right that minute while your hands are greasy.

Do not recommend
Very displeased, there is misinformation and no real information on how the parts interchange like what alot of people do for thier builds. Seems like the book was a big aftermarket parts advertisement. This is not like the multiple other SA books I own wich are full of great useful information that can help you. This book is only good for if you know nothing about the new hemi eninges and just want to learn the basics. If you plan on building one do not buy.

Useful and has color pictures
Great book. Im using it to repair my ram hemi. I would of liked to see more torq specifications and maybe more in depth descriptions but its intricate to my repair along with Haynes manual
