DO NO BUY
When I use this with my new Macbook pro, my computer says that its using too much energy and then my computer locked all the ports. I had to restart my computer to get it to work normally again. I read that the computer locks the ports for safety so that the computer does not get fried. This could have broken my new laptop. DONT BUY

Hot and Unstable.
I'll likely modify this thing with a heatsink. It gets hot an unstable. Screen flickers and mouse stopped working correctly. It's not really usable for extended use.Edit:Stable with my mod... Not exactly what I had in mind when I bought it.

didn't work in android samsung
Please note this works only for Apple, not Android based, at least not in my Samsung chromebook plus. Either that or the one I received is defective.

$20 extra for better quality. Bought this for temporary use
Using this product with my MacBook Pro, when plugged in with HDMI cable, the screen keeps going black and coming back on then black again and I have to unplug it and plug it back in for it to come back on.. My advise, spend the extra $5, $10, $20 extra for better quality. Bought this for temporary use, definitely replacing it a lot fatster than I thought.

Worked great.....until it didn't
Bought this in November 2017 and used it nearly every day at work on my Mac Book Pro. It worked consistently well until it suddenly died in February 2019.

Doesn’t work for watching video content
terrible. If you want to use it to watch videos it will not display the video content on your screen because it is not compatable. Not w Netflix or Amazong. Complete waste of money.

I use it mostly as usbc to hdmi adapter, which works fine. However when I use it to charge my phone at the same time, the adapter becomes burning hot and the external monitor flickers occasionally. It does not work well for its designed functionality

Does what it says
Works as promised.Though I wish that somebody from Apple had told me I'd need to be plugged into the wall to use most USB devices.
