My broadband has stopped dropping out
Having been in lockdown for a while my broadband kept dropping out, I had the old filter in for quite a while so it needed replacing. I had a different style one, but that made no difference, since I put this one in with the tail my broadband has been going 100%. The quality is very good and it’s a small price to pay for a continuous broadband signal.

BRILLIANT FOR PHONES
Our BT house phones ceased working. A message on each screen stated: Please check phone line. I took a guess that it might be one or more filters causing the problem and ordered some from Amazon. We had to wait a few days for delivery but they arrived safely yesterday (Thursday 26 May 2020). Quickly fitted to all phone sockets including the BT Hub, the phones sprang back to life. Thank goodness, no hassle and a 3 week wait to get Openreach to act. One reviewer stated having fitted one of these filters, his internet stopped dropping off. I was hoping the same might happen in our case. Sadly, no such luck: we still get the message 'Google Chrome is not responding' and it take around 15 - 20 minutes to open our mail. And when we can get connected, the screen turns from black to blank several times before we can start to read our mail. Then everything freezes. Grrrrrr.Having said that, I can totally recommend these filters for faulty telephone lines (if the filters are the problem, of course). A new filter for each socket could solve your problem. A tip: filters don't have an indefinite life so write the date of installation on each filter with a marker pen.

Standard microfilter, but NOT an official BT model, despite what the product description says
I bought this microfilter because the description says "Brand: BT", but when it arrived it turned out to be "New Link" (see photo), which essentially counts as "generic no-name Chinese". However, it seems to be working OK.

BT ADSL Boroadband Microfilter
I ordered this via Addonsworld and it arrived within 3-4 days. It is a Microfilter with a tail and sockets for both a telephone cable and modem; the one I recieved was branded as made by BT which I have used to plug my phone into. As a broadband virgin I have little experience of what to expect from this product but three weeks in it seems to work fine and there is no extra noise on my telephone line. I purchased it to use with a Netgear DG834G 54Mbps Wireless ADSL2+ Modem Firewall Router with 4-port 10/100 switch ; this came with its own microfilter in the box and so far I have had no connection or service problems (broadband via Plusnet).

BT engieers don't carry them
BT engineers don't carry them while checking loss of dialling signal or crackling on line of landline phones but are available from BT ! Saves delay. Fit them yourself. Essential for interference by Broadband or other nearby electrical appliances.

Not great but good value for
It’s good value for money. Obviously the phone line isn’t all that clear but I suppose you get what you pay for.I just needed it to attach my phone because somebody gave me an retro looking phone- we don’t really use it for conversation. So I’m pleased with my purchase.
