I use the Platinum Tools original version at work and wanted to compare this cheaper version to it. The grips are not as comfortable, and the whole tool is built down to a price. However it functions nearly identically, all my crimps were great and the blades are sharp and aligned well. The user reporting the stripping portion of the tool is cutting the wires does not know how to operate these. When slicing the sleeve you don't close the tool completely, but rather squeeze a few clicks in so it rests on the surface of the insulation. It won't cut the cable when used correctly. If you own a business just buy the Platinum Tools version for $67, otherwise these work fine.

I purchased this tool to install my new POE security camera system, which was valuable in making many of CAT6 terminals required to connect the security cameras to the NVR. On the side of the crimper is stenciled information for arranging the paired wires in correct order for 568-A & 568-B for 8 and 6 pin connectors. The crimper also includes cutters to strip the jacket, and to cut the wires neatly together. Overall quality of the crimper is high, and smooth operation allowed me to get my install done efficiently with little waste of RJ45 terminals.

Having crimped about 20 cable ends, I can say it makes the job easier. It does unfortunately cut into the cables when you're trying to strip the main insulator.

So my coworker purchased the official EZ crimper and I purchased this one. We put them to the test. My coworker had to twist his ends of the cat5 in order to cut and crimp. With these you don't have to.Every crimp was simple and the stripper function was terrific. For the cost, I paid less than my coworker and got the same results.I highly recommend these crimps.

Perfect crimping tool for making failure proof cat5 and cat6 cables since switching to these I haven't made one bad cable and I've made 20 or so lately. The wire guide on the side is an extra plus if you can't remember the wiring code.

The blade that trims the ends off the cable is not well placed. After adjusted, it simply won't cut the wires off neatly. For the price, this is an useless tool for my IT businesses

I use to make cat5/6 cable the old way and it would take forever getting the colors aligned and inserted correctly into the connector. And when it tested bad you had no idea which end was messed up, so many times I had to cut both. Since getting this pass through tool and connectors I have had every connection test correct. This process and tool has saved me hours of work and frustration. Highly recommend!

Worked good for awhile then stopped crimping all the pins. Junk
