They could do some work with the sponge to let it stay in

Every time I tried to use it the sponge fell out of the holder on to the floor. The design is flawed.

Their concept is good, but their execution in terms of final product as manufactured is less than perfect. The main issue is that the soft foam sponge pad falls out too easily when using it to apply lotion to my back. There is a retention ring around the foam sponge pad that is supposed to keep the pad from falling out, but it does not do this. Some kind of water repellent adhesive to the back side of the foam sponge pad could be helpful, but generally speaking, the plastic retaining ring should be redesigned to work better.

You get what you pay for. Unimpressive.

I would rate this device at about 3.5 to 4 stars. I like the idea of a device that allows a person to apply lotion or as in my case, Icy Hot Cream to my own back. I have arthritis in an area of my back that I cannot reach by myself and my husband cannot use that cream because he gets a negative skin reaction when he comes in contact with it. We have tried him wearing gloves but it is just a mess. That is why I decided to give this product a try.I was able to apply the cream where I needed it however I worried I would break the device if I used anymore pressure then was absolutely necessary, therefore I couldn't rub the cream in as well as if I used my hand (in an area I could reach). I also felt the sponge should have been thicker so I wouldn't be rubbing the plastic area around the sponge on my skin. And lastly I would not be able to use the sponge for any different ointments or creams because it was not possible to completely wash the icy hot cream out of the sponge.With all that said, I do think that with some modifications made by the manufacturer such as making it sturdier and the sponge puffed out more it could be a great product for people in my situation or a single person who doesn't have a partner to apply creams or lotions in areas they cannot reach themselves. I will continue to use this one specifically for my Icy Hot Cream, until it breaks. 😐 If the product undergoes the necessary improvements I would buy more for my mother and her single senior friends because it would really be a great and useful product.
