Excellent DnD 5e Supplement
My players and I have found the content and some of the innovative mechanics from this to have been remarkable additions to our DnD 5e campaign. Obviously Dark Souls is its own stand alone game, however if you a wondering if the content can be used or integrated into a DnD game the answer is a big YES. It's great.

Reading it doesn't feel like you're reading a core rulebook
The media could not be loaded. I'll start with my purchase experience. As it can be seen on my photo, the product had a small dent on one of the corners. I personally don't mind but it can be annoying if someone collects the RPG books in perfect conditions. Now, to the contents of the book. While reading it, it didn't feel like you're reading an actual core rulebook for the Dark Souls setting. Easily 80% of the book covered purely items, spells, enemies and locations. To be precise game mechanics can be found on pages 66-109. That is 40 pages (out of 380) on core rules. This setting feels more like an idea that you can give to an experienced GM, who can then turn it into something interesting rather than a complete setting. And that leads to my main issue - the book doesn't specify what type of gameplay is expected from both GM & the players. It gives general ideas on what can be the goal of the characters, how combat can look like but it leaves a lot of field for a GM to add to it. I recommend it only to experienced GMs. If you wanted to start your RPG adventure with the Dark Souls setting - do not buy this book, it'll be very confusing for you.

Don't, and careful with the print version if you do.
Dark Souls unfortunately doesn't translate well into TTRPGs, especially D&D 5e. With that in mind, Steamforged managed to do terrible work out of a terrible idea, the rules are utter garbage. Also, they botched the first print so badly they had to provide fresh copies to everyone that bought the game in preorder, so be aware of that. But steer away.
