Gold standard for Rockwool blocks. I've tried other brands but I always come back to grodan.

If you want to see your plants flourish in a hydroponic environment these blocks will pull their weight. Very water retaining and have a slot for smaller starter rockwool cubes. The only downside is algae or fungus can grow in the exposed block top. There are black plastic covers that fit the tops of these blocks. Just get ‘em. Thank me later. Happy growing!

I love using Grodan 6x6 cubes for my basement Hydroponic farm. These blocks retain a lot of nutrients needed for plant growth. I am currently growing Sweet Bazil and lettuce with these blocks. They may be a bit more expensive that other competitor blocks but they are vey high quality. The blocks are also re-usable dependent on the plant that was previously grown i.e. how strongly rooted the plant was in the block. The only caveat is that I would advise wrapping the block in black colored material like a garbage or disposal bag cut to a 6x6 dimension, this would aid in reducing algae growth on the block.

I received name brand Grodan Hugo 6x6's.Not much else to say, if you're reading this review, you've already found what you're looking for.If you are looking for advice if you should go Grodan, or off brand, hit the forums. I always use Grodan brand. Way way WAY too much time and money invested by the time they are rooting in 6x6's for me to want to change any part of my setup.
