More a long pamphlet than a book
Unlike many modern publications, this is printed on quality paper and text and photos etc are pin sharp. It is short - 50 or so pages of text (63 pages overall) , so not a real history book, but as no doubt intended, a good companion to a Lewis chess set. (I had not realised that so many incomplete sets have been unearthed, which at least partly explains why replica sets vary).

Interesting background Information.
Bought this to give me some background info on the chess set I bought as a student in the 70s. Compact but good information to accompany the set.

The Lewis Chessmen (Objects in Focus)
The historical review is just a shortened "History of Chess" by Murray, but the part on the chessmen themselves is excellent.

Excellent guide to chessmen
This is a very readable but thorough background to the 'Lewis Chessmen'. Worth reading before more detailed texts.

Je ne souhaite pas tout évoquer.Le produit me convient, même si je l'ai reçu un peu abimé (réduction du prix, me rendant plus conciliant).
