Felt Mountain (2022 Edition)

Bought for 2 reasons:The gold LP, nice.Lovely Head - a cracking yet haunting track.Brill.

So nice to have full size album cover to get the full wow factor of sleeve art. Actual songs exactly same as original release, shame Goldfrapp did not make any effort to include extras like alternative mixes or versions on any of the reissued formats for Felt Mountain.

Just received my Vinyl copy of Felt Mountain..Now playing.. And what a beautiful sound is coming forth from my speakers!I ummd & aahd about getting this album on vinyl as the CD is so good, but so glad I did.The sound quality is fantastic, Alison is almost in the room with you, the clarity is astounding.Believe me, a must purchase for Goldfrapp vinyl fans.

Each of Goldfrapp's albums are different, and I love them all. This one, which I've only recently discovered, has that oh-so cool 1960s film music ambiance (John Barry - "The Ipcress File", for instance), so meltworthy!Many of the songs on this album blend together for me, but the swirl and the lushness are captivating. An ambient album before its time? (Although the lyrics are rather fierce, in contrast!)

Great reissue but the cover is made from a disappointing thinner card that makes it a bit bendier thanks most covers and it feels a bit cheap. Shame they scrimped on that.

Absolutely brilliant album

I adore this album, always have. However, this pressing is not as good as it should have been. The colour of the disc is pretty, but rather underwhelming. The sleeve is thin and flimsy, making it look like one of those cheap bootlegs. The spine of the sleeve is also far thicker than it should need to be. I like that it was released as a gatefold and that it has the additional booklet. But this pressing pales in comparison to the white vinyl release a few years back. I’d advise anyone to seek that one out instead of opting for this one.

The disc is not solid gold like in the picture its more transparent gold, look at the picture i uploaded. Also the writing in the booklet is very hard to read. Can read it better when i look at it though my phone, so the picture makes it looks better then it is. 5 star for the music and 3 stars for this release. Disappointed.
