Nice history of The Fab 4
A collection which covers most of the important music from the Mk. 1 & Mk. 2 lineups. Very nice collection.

the classic box set
As box set's go this is almost perfect and should be the model for all other retrospective collections,2 cd's (the best of),1 disc rarities/outakes etc and final disc unreleased live tracks. The ist 2 disc's contain the best of the bands studio output, from the early epics like 'Phoenix' and 'Pilgrim' to the more well known 'Argus' tracks such as 'King Will Come','Warrior' & 'Throw Down The Sword' before showcasing the more melodic, softer mid 70's output with the likes of 'Sorrel','Ballad Of The Beacon' & 'Persephone, then bringing the disc up to the latter years and the early 80's 'Lifeline' being a long lost classic.Disc 3 contains various alternate versions /outakess from the latter years ,specifically late 80's,90's,its least impressive and for completists only, you'll only listen once or twice.Disc 4 on the other hand is manna from heaven with its collection of live tracks, some from my beloved Glasgow Apollo, highlights include a blistering 'Blowin Free' and stunning versions of 'Lorelie' & 'Way Of The World'.Withs its excellent booklet, this is a stunning compilation, should have been the template followed by others, its a fantastic way to discover this underated British band, who should really be held up with the rest of the 70'S rock legends.

Nostalgic trip pays off
I hadn't listened to Wishbone Ash for nearly 20 years, Sold all my vinyl years ago. I took a chance and ordered this, I was not dissapointed, this is a fine compilation of Songs, from the beginning to present, to me it sounds as fresh as the first time I heard them. The twin guitar sound and driven guitar melodies prove that this band deserves more credit for the part it played in the journey of rock music. If you liked Ash way back or are just inquisitive then you won't regret buying this. The live tracks on CD4 are especially fine, helped of course that some of the recordings were from 1976 gig's at the legendary Glasgow Apollo, I was there ;-)
