I was very sceptical about the price of this item. but after a good look at the reviews I made a leap of faith.MY GOOD THIS THING LIVES UP TO ITS FEATURES... and is fantastic value for money. I used this with AtmosFX video downloads connected to a projector for looping a set playlist.Its quick, easy to use, full of features for playing most types of images and video. quality is HD as expected with no noise or interference when using the VGA out.I would however recommend one change, or at least make an adapter available to purchase additionally. The AV out, is exactly that, and you HAVE to use their adapter to go from 3.5mm jack to 3x phono (Audio L&R, Composite) but it could do with a female phono to female 3.5mm jack to be able to plug in a set of speakers. I had to botch a few adapters together on the night when I discovered plugging in speakers directly to the AV out caused a grounding issue and made the picture go distorted.I will definitely be buying more for Halloween as it negates having to use laptops with projectors.

The remote stopped working and the player has all other buttons but not a power button? Anyone know how to power up without the remote? Need it to work for an exhibition tomorrow…

Works fine BUT be warned although it SAYS it plays AVI files IT DOES NOT. but it plays MOV. files ok. other then that easy to use

The one and only reason I bought this product was because in the Q&A section someone asks if it will work with a 4tb drive and Annie who I assume is an employee of Pathson answers that it can.So imagine my surprise when I plug in my 4tb drive via the usb port to find that, yes you guessed it, the media player does not even find the hard drive.I plugged a smaller drive just to check that it actually worked and it works fine with a 1tb drive for example; in fact the menu and play is quite responsive with sound and video playing well.The menu background itself is blue with floating blue hearts? I just have no words for that...........It comes with a lot of out of date audio jacks and no HDMI cable which would have been a better idea.The remote itself is the usual standard you would expect and is adequate for what it is expected to do and the signal is quite good but and of course there would be a but. The push and release slot where the battery is located does not work........which as I'm not going to be using it really isnt an issue.I am rating this product 1 star because 1 star means I hate it and while it actually performs its role just fine there is cheaper on the market that will do just the same and I hate it because I bought it for its ability to work with a 4tb hard drive.It seems that media devices that actually work with 4tb hard drives(even partitioned ones) are like rocking horse ****Question:can it draw from a 4tb external hd on usb ?Answer:hi there,Thanks for your message.Yes, it can.Best regards,Annie see lessBy Pathson (Europe) SELLER on 06 July 2017

A litte surprised this media player has not picked up more 5* reviews as it worked perfectly right out of the box. It has HDMI, composite, component and VGA outputs which allows you to connect to CRT, flatscreen TV and computer monitors. The menu system is simple and looping content is easy. If you are looking for a low cost playback device for video art, VJ backup if laptop fails, signage or for entertainment this media player is well worth considering. Cheap tatt. Played most, but not all files. It did recognise my 2TB external hard drive via USB, as long as it was formatted to NTFS. With some files the picture would pause every 10 seconds or so for a second, making the programme virtually unwatchable. After 6 weeks of ownership, the HDMI port has packed up, rendering it useless.

I have used many media devices but this one is superior to all of them; great interface, plays virtually anything and a great price. I have only used hdmi output so cant comment on other outputs but have no doubt they will be fine.

Easy to use... no setup required and will handle 2Gb portable drive with ease. Only thing that could be improved is for it to contain two USB ports
