Useful core colours
I used to paint model vehicles and figures of various types as a kid, but that was decades ago. I've just started dabbling again. These paints are a hundred times better than the little metal tins that I used to use. Using the dropper bottles and a simple plastic pallet makes controlling the quantity and blending of the paint so much easier, whil also massively reducing wastage and the risk of spills. The paint goes on well with solid pigments (apart from the yellow, which seems really thin and requires multiple coats to look half decent, unless I got a dodgy bottle). This set contains a good range of really basic colours - black, white, gray and a handful of strong, essential colours. I've matched it with the fantasy paint set (which frustratingly doesn't include a simple black or white) and together they give you enough options to paint up a reasonably diverse set of miniatures.

Would recommend
Everything about The Army Painter's paint sets is designed around making you a better miniature painter. The painting guides are genuinely useful and offered some great tips, and there's even another little insert offering advice on caring for your brushes. The non-waste paints mean you'll save money in the long run and are of a good quality. Some were a little thin, even after shaking, but mostly they're thick enough for a single layer. Personally, if you can afford it, I would go for one of the bigger sets. Although you can mix the paints it can be hard to recreate colours for later touch-ups and there aren't enough colours here for large armies.I would also recommend investing in a couple of the primer spray paints as these make the overall job much easier. All in all, this feels like a great product that care had gone into creating. I've already bought more of Army Painter paints and am likely to again.

Nice paints! But...
The paints are great. However, when I got them, the white was sealed over by paint (meaning I had to cut it away, damaging the paint container.)And some of the paints have a habit of seperating out, even after shaking thoroughly which can be annoying. However, they have great pigment and I thoroughly enjoy using them besides the other points. The paintbrush began to show signs of wear after just a few uses, so, I would recommend on not relying on it.Get some other nice brushes for cheap (CONDA Fine Detail brushes sold here on Amazon are cheap and seem pretty good to me.)

Good price and varied colour selection.
Price and quality of the paint is excellent compared to Warhammer which is a lot more expensive. Bottles are easy to open and you can use them like droppers to use exactly what you want. Make sure you shake the bottle well before use to ensure the pigments have not settled out. Large selection of colours available and I will be buying more.

A great starter set!
First off, I’ve used the Army Painter range for some time now and I think they make great products. I’m a fan of their general ethos - less time painting, more time playing. Having said that, their paints are really useful for all your gaming and modelling needs. You get a good range of colours to start with and th brush included in the set is actually a really good all-round brush. The bottles are great for popping the exact amount of paint you need but will really need some shaking to make sure the pigment/medium is mixed well. I’ve know some people to place little glass beads to act as agitators to help with this in extreme circumstances.Colourwise, they’re almost all great. Demonette Yellow is a favourite where plate metal is a little plastic looking for my tastes. If you’re starting out or you need a “travel paint set” for the hobbyist on the go, you can’t go wrong.

Good set
Really good quality paints which cover all the bases for someone new to the hobby. Remember to shake well and bang them on the table a few times before use. The dropper bottles are generally pretty good for avoiding waste. The consistency of the liquid can be erratic if you use the nozzle (you sometimes get acrylic fluid coming out), so either put in a steel ball to mix it better or just pull the tops off if this is frustrating.

Good paints
Paints work well. Unfortunately I didn’t get a brush in my box. Don’t know why. But had another available. Paints work well and only slight lines due to memory watering it down enough

Works well for beginner
The paint is pretty easy to use, not too thick and the dropper bottle work very well. The bottles had agitators in them, which was a bonus.
