Solid Furnace Kit - Gets the Job Done!
The media could not be loaded. Was a bit skeptical when ordering this, but wow, it works great. The furnace heats up real fast and the 6kg capacity is perfect for my small metal casting projects. I’ve melted aluminum and brass so far and it handled both with no problem. Propane consumption isn’t too bad either. Honestly thought it would burn through more fuel. The kit comes with pretty much everything you need to get started, which is awesome. The tongs are solid, not flimsy like others I’ve seen. One thing tho, I had to watch a few videos to figure out the setup, but after that, it was smooth sailing. Overall, super happy with this furnace. Great for anyone who wants to try metal casting at home. Would totally buy again if I needed another one. 5 stars!

Simple and clear
It has been a great help with my metalworking projects. Turning scrap metal into beautiful artwork such as ingots and 3D cast jewelry has never been easier. The included manual is easy to understand and great for beginners. Overall, this is an excellent smelter that offers great value and performance for any metalworking enthusiast.

Doesn’t melt anything but aluminum and poor workmanship
Bought this to melt down some scrap Into ingots to store more easily and take down work off my other forge. I’ve been able to get aluminum to melt down but that’s it, it will not get hot enough to melt copper wire thick or thin, will not get hot enough to melt brass also thick or thin. And then we get into the workmanship…. First the “powder coat” yeah no burns off the inlet and it started biting off the lid so it’ll now rust out which is just what you want right…? Ugh! The wing nut for the hold down on the inlet/intake stripped out the first time I tightened it because it’s held in by all of a thread and a half so it’ll would need a bit welded to the top to give it sufficient threads to grab the inlet/intake which leads over to the fact it leaks out the backside there and has trouble staying lit and or getting lit because of that which is oh so much fun! The brass nipple for the propane line came off the jet tube so I had to fight getting that out of the end of the line and now it’s compromised and prone to leaks so yay lucky me! The insulation inside is missing in areas so it had heating issues and heat retention issues. The tongs are decent but are super hard to use because they bind up so not fun trying to grab a hot crucible like that. The ingot mold is good no issues there and honestly the best piece of the entire set up smfh. All in all I’d rather buy another devil forge and just eat the cost up front over messing with this cheap trash again! I though I could save a few bucks and get a decent unit but I’m regretting that big time now!!! Wish I could just send it back and get my money back to put into a devil forge that I know will work like it should since I use one already. Just save your money and buy quality over this junk and don’t suffer like I did. Rating 1 star because I can’t rate it a negative 10 star review otherwise I gladly would!

Why are you still reading this, go ahead an buy it.
I have tried the King Of Random build for a foundry or furnace. I mean it worked, but this kit come out looking so much nicer than the hardware store piece meal random parts i have laying around thing i built. And that doesnt even get into what it cost me in parts to build that hunk.I really dont think you can beat this kind of value.

Great beginner kit for smelting!
I wish I saved pictures, but if you are a beginner and worried about buying the wrong furnace, stop and get this one. Read all the directions (and safety items) and all you have to do is put a pipe and a screw together, screw on the propane hose, attach it to some fuel, and then start it up exactly like how the instructions tell you how. On your first few smeltings you MUST use this furnace in the wide-open outdoors. There are a few hot areas where the paint will burn off and the smoke is something you do not want to have trapped in a garage/shed/overhang even with doors open. I recommend buying 3-4 smaller clay crucibles for you to practice on. The large graphite crucible that comes with this furnace is a heavy beast and it is meant for a decent amount of metal. If you are smelting a few handfuls of wires or small amounts of scrap, then practice in a smaller crucible and get your form down (opening the lid, gripping with the tongs, holding/pouring from the crucible, and start to know your metals and their temps.) Its MUCH easier to do this with a smaller crucible than what this kit comes with. You can purchase clay-like crucibles that are disposable for cheap. Use those first and practice. Other than that, this kit comes with everything you need to start smelting and how to do it safely!

Solid design, decently built.
Bought this to get started with smelting down the mountain of metals I have on the property I own and so far this thing has been slightly less than beginner friendly. Hence only three stars there with an overall of 4 stars. Arrived with everything required to go - Gas regulator, tongs, mold and crucible, lid and furnace itself. The small air-control nut wasn't welded properly and broke in transit which isn't a problem since we have a welder, but still a good lesson to doublecheck and inspect everything when your product arrives.some of the paint will burn/peel off, this is to be expected since these things get hot in a hurry, first time burn and run will be a bit smelly, but otherwise will go smoothly. There is no Rigidizer OR Refractory cement provided with the smelter, you'll want to get some since the dust from using a furnace with just the provided insulation can be as bad as asbestos, invest in a little rigidizer and refractory cement to line the inside as well as wear a respirator when melting anything in these things.Burns hot enough that I was able to actually use it as a ad-hoc oven and get a chunk of cast iron flattened out and shaped around the crucible that came included so that I'm not using the set of plier tongs to both lift free and pour.Worth every penny spent, and would recommend to anyone wanting to smelt up some ingots for a little side project or take to a recycling plant for extra income.
