For the price it is a great little torch.... But a bit on the square light side
Ok, so I bought this torch to use as the basis for a project for one of the kids I teach as it was cheap and had some great reviews. This means that it was get chopped I'm half so that it has a separate battery pack and it can light up a themed lamp.Outside of being a teacher I am also a member of my local search and rescue team... And the one topic everyone in SAR teams loves talking about are torches! We spend a fortune on them!! I must have 200 quid + in the back of my car (I hope my wife never finds out!!). So I thought I would try this torch against a similar sized torch, so I dug out my led Lenser M7 (they are the same size). So the differences, the led lenser costs 5 times the cost and takes one extra battery (4) compared to the Youpin. The led Lenser is slightly brighter but not by much. Bearing in mind the Youpin is advertised as a stupid amount of lumins, it is nowhere near what it is advertised at. For me the two things that would put me off for serious work are:1. The front of the torch is far to easy to unscrew and this could easily work it's way loose.2. When looking long distance with the torch the area lit up is quite small and a square patterned shape. The body feels cheap compared to the led Lenser, but for the price it is not a bad torch!! This would be great as an occasional torch, just not for someone who needs to use a torch daily

take a gamble.
I was very sceptical when I ordered this product. lots of reviews saying it is bad, lots of reviews saying it is good. The torch I received is simply brilliant, super bright and very sturdy I was quite shocked the quality was so high saying it was made in china for 7 quid. I put 3 triple A batteries in it and it is like having a mini spot light in your pocket, at maximum focus the beam easily reaches 30 metres, no exaggeration. I have read the bad reviews and all I can say is order one in the hope it is a good one.

It's NOT 2000 lumens
Torch arrived quickly and in good order.I inserted the battery pack the wrong way to start off but soon realised. The unit feels sturdy, is a nice weight and seems well made. The on/off switch is on the end of the torch, not ideal but it functions fine. It's not the 2000 lumens it advertises, I estimate it's under half that (I have many cycle lights) , my main reason for buying was the output so that's very disappointing.Still, it's cheap and works fine, but I've waisted my money on something I expected to be brighter though !

Practical
in my opinion a well built torch, super bright LED, definitely zoomable from Pinlight to floodlight although Pinlight is more of a square. The reason(s) I don't give the fifth star.No control of the modes, if you turn it on you may get strobe or sos or standard. Not a major issue but just a pain to cycle through all of the options.I would also question how water resistant or proof it is, as, as far as I can see there are no "O" rings, washers or seals. There is a good depth of thread on the components, but they will just delay the capillary action. Admittedly they do say "don't deep it in water" which I assume means do not submerge. For the price, good quality and good value and I would buy it again.

Reach for the clouds.
There are many adverts for powerful torches and I have been disappointed in the past. This is better than any I've had outside of one of those torches with a massive reflector and massive battery. I'm delighted with the power and the ability to go from broad coverage to tight focus. Amusing that the tight focus provides a square beam. Seems to reach low cloud - a sure sign of a good powerful torch with a tight focus. It seems solidly built and so good value for money.

Not exactly 2000lm!
I did not expect this to be 200 Lumens as stated, the price considered, but it seems to be less than 200 lumens. It is the lowest intensity light I have ever seen in a flashlight. It is actually so low intensity that when focused to the narrowest setting, the cone it draws is not circular, but square like the LED, and you can see the lines in the LED in the cone. Also light is bluish and looks more like a signal LED.Otherwise, build quality seems good, metal casing, and the focusing is smooth and has (in my opinion) the right stiffness.Even though the price is very low, I would not recommend this, as if you buy a torch you need it to light up something, and this does not really do that. You could hardly see the light from it in daylight.

The best small zoomable torch I have found to date.
I have a Lenser P7.2 torch which is more or less the same size (fractionally smaller) as the Youpin. The Lenser cost around £40.00 and takes 4 AAA batteries. For the Youpin I bought some Keeppower ICR26650 5200mAh 3.7v Protected Rechargeable Li-ion Battery (very important that are PROTECTED batteries - it stops them from exploding). I now keep the Lenser in the car as a backup and use the Youpin as my main torch.PROS: The Youpin has a far brighter light when using the 26650 battery than the Lenser. It costs under £5.00 (how do they keep the price so low?)CONS: The price is so low I keep buying them for my friends and family. The zoom is ever so slightly stiffer than the Lenser, a bit of grease could fix that out but I haven't bothered because its not a problem.CONCLUSION: I have bough other similar torches (in addition to the Lenser). This is the best small zoomable torch I have found to date.

Flicker fault developed
This is a nice looking bright torch. It it had just kept working it would have got 5 stars. It's a shame. But as others have posted it is prone to developing a 'flicker' fault. When you have in normal mode it will start the flashing mode for no reason. I returned mine and will be looking for another design as this torch design seems to have been badged with multiple brands.
