Lives up to it's title
This truly is the encyclopedia of body building and sets the bar far above all other body building literature i have owned, this book has quality, concise and easy to understand information on every aspect of body building you can imagine. All of the whats, hows, whys and whens are covered in good detail and the range of muscle building exercises it contains is garunteed to show you ways to target muscles in ways you wouldn't be able to find on your own. The sections on nutritional science and lifestyle are also incredibly helpful with understanding how to build a diet that maintains day-to-day functionality, attentiveness and alertness while also providing enough calories, hydration and nutrition to build muscle in the healthiest way possible.I genuinely do not think I will need another body building book outside of this one.

The Bible of Bodybuilding - MUST HAVE!
The New Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding by Arnold Schwarzenegger was written in 1992. This is not a comedy or an action book; this book falls into its own category, bodybuilding. As most of you know, Arnold was a professinal bodybuilder and was the first well known bodybuilder. Due to this, this is his only book. There are no sequels, rising action, or climax. Just strictly bodybuilding. This is not a novel that you can read in a few weeks. The New Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding is over 800 pages and goes over many different topics from Arnold himself including; nutrition, bodybuilding workouts/exercises, history of bodybuilding as a whole and lots of half-naked pictures of the legendary Arnold. The whole concept of this book is all about bodybuilding and expanding the different topics involved. The lengh of this book caught my eye, 800 plus pages all on bodybuilding. I have yet to finish the Encyclopedia, but i am okay with that. I cant get enough of Arnold. I really liked the fact that The New Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding had so many different topics, for example, exercises and movements. As a reader you can focus on one part you are interrested in and learn do much more about it. One thing that makes Arnold stand out is his additude, he is very serious but fun at the same time. "The worst thing I could be, is the same as everybody else. I'd hate that." A famous qoute from Arnold, fits this book perfectly. Even as a reader you feel different from everybody else. Who do you know that reads a 800 page book on bodybuilding? Beacuse of this, i highly recomend The New Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding to any bodybuilding fan or bodybuilder. The book will not benenfit you if you are not interested in the sport. Overall, the value of this book is awesome... to fellow bodybuilders.

All The Lifting Literature You’ll Ever Need
This massive tome has essentially become my manual. For almost a year I applied myself to Scott McRobert’s minimalist-conservative approach with almost no results to show for it (i followed it loyally). Prior to that I had experimented with other approaches such as training one muscle-group per day (3-5 sets per exercise max), and even training all muscle-groups in one day (1-3 sets per muscle group).None of the other approaches I tried required as much brutally hard work and training time as the Schwarzenegger approach does. However, I quickly learned that there really is no substitute for hard work. The guidelines in this book are the culmination of around one hundred years of collective body-building expertise, years of blood, sweat and tears from decades of trial and error. That alone should satisfy the curiosity of someone considering the viability of the hardcore approach insisted upon in this ground-breaking work. The Basic Program’s prescription amounts to 5-8 sets per EXERCISE across a two muscle-group session per day resulting in three sessions performed twice per week, i.e. chest & back is sessions 1 performed twice per week; shoulders & arms is session 2 and legs & lower back session 3 both also performed twice per week. This is essentially training six days per week and 30+ sets per day. Furthermore, the rest periods between sets are encouraged to be no more than a minute to a minute and a half in order to push the muscle to it’s maximum point of exertion. My one gripe is that I would personally have liked to have seen fewer pictures of professional bodybuilders posing, and more pictures of professional bodybuilders TRAINING. However, considering the general completeness of this work and it’s surprisingly low price, i suppose that little fault can be forgiven. Besides, reliable form guides are fairly easy to locate here and there. For less than £15 (at time of writing), this massive, yet masterly work should be top of this list for any man now intent on improving their masculine physical attributes. My advice is: don’t wait, don’t procrastinate, buy this book, study the basic program on pages 180-181, ingest the form guides for the exercises applicable to that program, stick to it as much as possible and you will reap the rewards.Just don’t be afraid of the hard work – it’ll make you much stronger physically AND mentally in the long run.
