On balance I think this is a really good project, I just hate plumbing. It will get you out of a jam with pipes under pressure....just.. but its best to do the job properly in the first place. It says it 'sets under water', I'm not so sure about that. It is very useful in some circumstances and seems to work better when allowed to dry when there is no water around. I used it in two places recently, one good one bad. Good; a hard seal around the big soil pipe on a toilet ; on top of 'plumbers mate'; to give a good hard seal, ready for painting. Bad; a leaking compression joint 15mm, which was under pressure; it was the hot tap on a sink and it struggled. The point is there is far more pressure on the cold side. The water kept finding a way through. I ended up replacing the whole joint. DIY bloke.

Having read the manufacturers amazing blurb about how wonderful and easy-to-use their product was (accompanied by a similarly convincing video) I awaited the product with eager anticipation. Arriving two days later than Amazon expected I hastily unwrapped the Sylglas Plumber Fix and set about mixing the compounds exactly as the instructions showed. Then the moment of truth as I applied to a fairly small hole in the radiator pipework caused by nothing more than some loose solderwork. OMG what a complete and absolute waste of time and money this product is! It had hardly touched the pipe as it started to disintegrate before my eyes. I was left clutching a gooey mess which had the bonding power of your average piece of toilet paper which is ironically where this pile of garbage ended up!

A friend recommended this as I had a weird pinhole leak on a radiator (by weird, I mean it was in a place where you wouldn't expect a leak, nowhere near a valve or opening). It stuck down okay, but eventually, the leak just seeped through. Replaced the radiator instead, which was easy to do and cheap (just needed the right tools and a few youtube videos).

Stopped the leaks in minutes. Very good

I purchased this to try to repair a tiny pin prick hole in a pipe. I was not able to turn the water off completely, due to a faulty stop tap. I mixed up the putty and applied as instructed, but it would not stick to the damp pipe, the water just came through the putty. I then read in the instructions that the surface need to be applied to a dry surface. So it was no good for me. The packaging was opened, it looked like someone had already used some of the putty, then returned it to Amazon. Can’t say that I blame them.
