Simple! Colourful! Effective! Brilliant!!
I ordered this for a friend of mine to help teach her son, who is 7, how to tell the time as the clock in their house made it hard for him to understand. He had been taught how to tell the time in school but was still unable to grasp the whole 'minutes past' and 'minutes to' way of reading a clock.Using the simple instructions provided and some help he was quickly able to read out what time it was. A few days later and he was able to tell the time without any prompting! The instructions that came with the clock were clear and simple making it very easy for parents to help their children. The clock itself is excellent! Bright and colourful and the marking of the number areas means the child is never stuck as to what number 'zones' the hands are pointing to. A simple yet very effective system of telling the time.Takes a single AA battery. The seconds hand doesn't judder every second like the majority of clocks but instead smoothly moves around. Silent too.The clock now hangs in the livingroom of my friend's home and her son has no problems at all knowing what time it is. Not bad at all when you consider she's only had it for FOUR DAYS!I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this clock if your child has difficulty in understanding how to tell the time.I wish I'd had something like this when I was a child!!!!

A must have
This clock is absolutely perfect! I purchased it for my 3 and 5-year-old daughters, and after just two attempts, they were already able to read the time. The fact that it is rainbow-themed is a massive plus, especially since my girls are really into it. Not only is it functional, but it also adds a fun touch to their room. The school teacher recommended to me and couldn't be happier. To be honest I didn’t compare price with other options since trusted the teacher, but price - quality seems great to me.

Silent and easy to read...
We bought this clock in January and made the mistake of hanging a little too high. There's a glare from the ceiling light that stopped my little ones bring able to make out what the clock was showing. We've just recently resolved this and it had had an immediate effect on my two little girls. My youngest has just turned 5 and can now easily read the time. I had bought the clock based on other positive reviews and just figured the girls were not interested in learning about telling the time. Even when my eldest started learning about it at school, I couldn't understand why she didn't use the clock more to help her with the homework. The penny didn't drop until I got done down to their eye level/height and looked up at the clock and noticed the glare. Once it was repositioned, there was massive interest in telling the time and even a little competition between the 5&6 year old's. I wholeheartedly recommend this clock and caution anyone purchasing it to check for glare when deciding where to hang it up.

Great to learn to read, has got loud.
The concept of this clock is brilliant. I got it for my 5yo 6 weeks ago. The very next day he was able to read the clock but didn't have the understanding of what he was reading. I just very briefly explained every day and a couple weeks later, I tried to put him to bed early as he was tired and he took my to his clock and explained that it wasn't betime yet as it wasn't 7oclock. So for that I would highly recommend the clock.I have given this clock 4 stars instead of 5 becuase when it first arrived (6ish weeks agao) it was pretty much silent. But now its quite loud. It is in his bedroom so he can see the time in the morning so hoping it won't get louder. Also I'm worried its starting to fail...i really hope its not as he has got on so well with this clock. And it wasnt a cheap clock!

Buy it
We bought this back at Christmas time to help our children of 6 and 5 to properly tell the time. Didn't take them long! The clock is really, very good indeed, utterly silent in operation which means you could (if you wanted to) put it in a bedroom and not worry about a constant "tick-tock" keeping your little one's awake at night. We chose to hang ours in the dining room so that we could get the most out of the clock at all times - during breakfast and evening meals, we would ask questions of the time and our children soon became aware of how it all worked. My 6 year old is now able to tell the time accurately from other clocks in our house including ones that don't have numbers on the face (just the hands) I felt compelled to write a review this evening about this product because, this weekend, we taught our son how to tell the time from a 24hr clock! All because of this product! No looking back for him now and my daughter is right on his heels!

EasyRead Time Teacher Wall Clock ...really is 'Easy-Read'!
I bought these for our seven-year-old twins. Each child took very little time to work out how to tell the time. Now they both take turns downstairs reading and understanding the times from our old 'ticking' clocks, instead of just mindlessly reading the numbers off the electronic display on our cooker. More importantly, my children now have a much more enlightened grasp of the Idea of Time, and they now understand when it's time for school/time for bed/time to brush teeth/time for a story etc... they often remind Mummy and Daddy if we are inconsistent, listen more attentively and with interest when we explain, and life has become suddenly much more agreeable at home.I'd suggest any parent wanting to buy an aid such as this EasyRead ought to wait until the tail-end of Year 2 in primary school, though. It's sooo much easier for slightly older kids to master an understanding of such a measure as Time. For years I witnessed the anguish and patience of parents who spent countless weeks trying to teach their five and six-year-old kids to tell the time. Most of the parents who like us broached this subject at our kids' current age noted that (a) it took a matter of hours, not weeks, to learn how to tell the time and to understand the measure, and (b) they absorbed more readily the implications and insights of learning this measure.
